Iron Man 1 is almost a perfect superhero film in my opinion it's a far better movie than 2 and 3.
- Stane was a far better villain than Killian, and Whiplash
- Robert Downey is at his best, 2 and 3 he started to become a parody of himself, almost everything that came out his mouth was a snarky joke.
- The script was much better than 2 and 3. Tony's motivation for becoming a hero made a lot of sense, and was well thought out.
- I loved the unorthodox ending with him admitting to the world he's Iron Man.
250 for this figure is way too expensive and it comes with no accessories. Hot Toys has been slowly creeping up prices, but the past year it seems like they are raising the prices even faster.
Days of Future Past. Critically acclaimed summer blockbuster filled with over a dozen mutants. Costumes, past and future versions of characters, giant robots...perfect LINE material for Hot Toys.
2023 Wolverine opened the door and there's so much that can follow:
1973 Magneto
2023 Magneto
Past and Present Magneto set
1973 Xavier
2023 Xavier
Past and Present Xavier set
1973 Beast
2023 Beast
Past and Present Beast set or Human Hank McCoy and Beast set
Sentinel Mark II (1973)
Sentinel Mark X (2023)
Mystique
Storm
Colossus
Quicksilver
Iceman (with bonus ice sculpt)
Bishop
Blink
Sunspot (with flame bonus sculpt)
Warpath
Trask
I'd be shocked if it ends with Wolverine.
I'm not sure why you say "everyone" claims to hate iron man 3. It was one of the top three box office draws of all time. Made billions.
If this wolverine does not sell, and sell pretty well(ie a lot more then both Ladt stand and "the wolverine") there's no way any more DOFP figures make it.
A toy iron man suit is simply a toy Iron man suit, the designs were cool, but that movie is absolute ****. People who like it are A) not Iron man comic book fans (though as of late im not anymore either) and B) sheep
Gonna be funny when Hot Toys charge more for a barebones the Iron Man AOU figures and no one bats an eyelid at the prices
Agreed 100% especially about the second point.
I paid less for Snake Eyes, who came with a **** ton more than this. HT needs to get a grip.
And the tooling and sculpt for snake eyes(on top of licenses issues) was no where near as complicated and detailed as this wolverine. The sword tooling can be reused from SE. The guns can be reused. The body is cast with black plastic and is reused.
As for the post where it was commented about what I said about if this wolverine does not do well the other DOFP figures won't get made...and the response was that people may already have other wolverines.-----first, that means nothing. They have sold or are selling 30 iron man figures. So 3 of 4 wolverines doesn't exactly stack up. And the DOFP license is unique. In man ways. If the most popular character in the most popular costume does not sell, given the increased cost and hassel involved with the rights to this film hot toys will not proceed.
Why would they? When they have other properties that make more money, cost less to produce and can be up/re cycled for tooling.
Trust me voting with your wallet doesn't work. For every figure you skip over pricing or milking there'll be a hundred who'll buy it

HT has already done wolverine figures to death like Iron Man.

TV:
Arrow
Roy Harper
Flash
The Matrix - Neo, Morpheus, Smith, Trinity
X-Men DOFP - Professor X young and old, Magneto young and old, Sentinels past and present.
The Sopranos - Tony, Silvio, Paulie (very much doubt this would ever get made)
Mad Max - Max
Raging Bull - Jake Lamotta
OK I'll play serious:
Kyle Reese (all encompassing figure for the entire film, not just Tech Noir, lets face it they'd probably only release one)
Sarah Connor/Blown-in-half Endoskeleton double set
T2 John Connor
Hicks
Hudson
Vasquez
Doc Brown (not yet a foregone conclusion, but reasonably likely)
Indiana Jones (based on Harrison Ford this time - and no PERS. 'but Indy-' NO PERS!!!)
John McClane
Riggs & Murtaugh
Maximus Decimus Meridius
Fassneto (Magneto)
70s outfit Wolverine
Any new Arnold figure from his various actioners would be a temptation, including a Dutch 2.0. Further T-800s would be purchased most likely but I won't ask for them.
Thanos (GoTG)
Ronan (GoTG)
Doc Brown
Top Dollar (The Crow)
Magneto (DoFP)
Charles Xavier (DoFP)
Silver Surfer
Luke (Jedi)
Amanaman
Boba Fett (Holiday Special)
Jimmy Conway
Henry Hill
Tommy DeVito
Last week I would have said a good Jackman as Wolverine sculpt but the DOFP figure looks perfect in my eyes, so my wish list looks something like this now:
Blade 1: Blade
Hellboy 1: Hellboy - on a proper TT this time, no rubber please
All the Ghostbusters + Ecto 1
Batman Begins: Ra's al Ghul - FTLOG give us Ra's al Ghul
Man of Steel: Faora (the only figure I'd get from that license)
X2: Prof X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Magneto, Mystique, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Iceman, Rogue
If they'd go back to the M icon series then:
Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis jr
Elvis
Given up on a good Harrison Ford HS so I won't go looking for another Indy, but for the all time holy grail set:
All 6 Bonds.
Yeah....No!!!!!
Wolverine will have had 4 figures Iron Man will have had upwards of over 20
Only own of those have been done to death, it's like comparing Apples and boulders

It's to show that the Wolverine figure and the Hugh Jackman has been already done and it's license is not a unique or new license at all as another poster suggested. Not trying to suggest they've done as many wolverines as iron man, but trying to show this ridiculous pricing doesn't correlate with any unique or new licensing. So it shouldn't be a reason for this super high pricing. And I really agree with Darth Zangetsu here. Prices across the board have been going up systematically like mad. And it's not like this Wolverine comes with DX like accessories. It actually comes with even less accessories than standard barebones figures. lol
_______
Comparing any figure to Iron Man will be like that, but 4 figures of Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine is still a lot in my opinion. No matter how you slice it, 250 for a figure that has no accessories is way over priced.
