I always wanted a Fassbanger Magneto and thought there was one in production along with XFC Xavier but I guess they got canned?

There was never a magneto on production. The prof X was scrapped becuase the actor refused to sign likeness rights. Nothing hot toys could do.

Wasn't the purple cape supposed to be him, or was that something else?

I have no idea. But it's a cape. It never made it to prototype stage.

The first class character had a black cape. That didn't look much like that. And given the costume for the prof x they where making and the team having a uniform costume in the battle scene it would have been made that way I'm sure. The scene he had a cape was very short at the end of the film if memory serves. That cape could be mos figure.

I think I'm going to buy this figure. It makes me sad that hot toys has not made the correct claws as in film .they have used ancient claws of the otrs wolverines

More likely Disney being Disney got it canned as they have done with nearly all X-Men merch

I think Fox has a different sort of deal where the actors also have to negotiate the likeness rights. You can find an article somewhere when Jennifer Lawrence said no to any mystique figures using her likeness. I had heard somewhere that HT was working on the deals for Apocalypse. Seemed like DOFP came and went before HT could do this so they started pursuing the next movie. I don't really care about the rest. All I want is Fassneto. I heard McAvoy is kind of a ****. If the old guys aren't in it either then there won't be much demand for anything other than a wolverine or fassneto. I'm not sure if this factors into HT's decision to pursue the likeness rights from the actors. I'd be okay with just one.

To answer your question, I think HT has to go through Marvel, Fox, and the actors to produce a figure. Obviously Wolverine got made so it might be the actors.

There's limitless potential with the line for me. So many I'd get. And the best thing it's they'd all be new characters and not predictable retreads.

From Apocalypse there'd be demand for Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, Qucksilver, Archangel, Psylocke and Scott, Ororo and Jean minimum and Deadpool would sell like hot cakes

Yeah there is really not a character that they could make that I wouldn't buy. The X films are my favorite comic book movies.

I dont think itll be bad just average like FC and DOFP. Id only buy a Fassneto, Wolverine and Apocalypse if he has a mutated form (not the one from the pics we've seen so far).

I would love to buy a Fassbender Magneto, but I feel like his costumes have gotten worse with each movie. So I'm not sure what I'd do if there were actually figures made from the Apocalypse movie. But I still don't believe any X-Men figures will get made- HT has its hands full with the MCU and Star Wars cash cows.

Pretty sure Howard Chan alluded to this in an interview, where he noted the difficulty in getting likeness rights for X-merchandise, since they have to be negotiated separately, unlike the Marvel Universe stuff. He said something similar about Michael Jackson figures. Thriller had to be significantly tweaked from the first prototype to satisfy the family, and this may have been the reason why the "Smooth Criminal" version was never produced.

I'd be okay with a DoFP figure (I still love the blue/yellow FC outfit), but the new Apocalypse outfit (from the magazine cover) looks terrible to me so far (save for the helmet). I'll wait to see how it looks in full and in motion, but as is, it's not looking very appealing.
