I didn't even consider mine to be too dark or anything till people started talking about, but still don't think theres anything wrong with it...

Yeah it's taking time. But becuase of how the buyer protection works he still has to open a case. Becuase if he doesn't and it gets stuck and damaged or lost he could be out of luck. Once the case is open they will wait till its delivered. Or case is escalated. But after a certain time period you can't even open a case. It's the shippers responsibility to make sure it arrives within that 45 day window. And shipping it via boat is his choice. (The cheapest way) anyway, opening the case isn't going to leave a bad mark or cost him anything unless it doesn't show or something else happens. They just put a hold on the funds. And since you/he don't have the item that's only fair. Better safe then sorry

Got my money back and it didn't take long. eBay didn't buy his tracking info and the time it was taking. At this point I'll probably wait until later this year when he's discounted and has bonus rewards points. Maybe even Spooctacular.

I can't believe that mistake on the shirt made it into production.
Although to be fair, when this figure was announced, they must have already been getting loaded on the boat, so it's not like they could have changed it anyway.

It's not a proto.
Cap's shield is one single piece of a vibranium-steel alloy. His shield doesn't contain all the parts we see on the Arc set shield.
If i were to guess, it's maybe meant to represent an "Iron Man Tech" riff Tony started to recreate Cap's shield as a technological marvel akin to the IM suits. We see that same thin hex material present in the under armour parts on the suits. If he finished it, you'd expect it would look like Cap's shield, but would have IM tech in there somehow.
Oh, and if you only want the shield:

Righto. Coulson asks Tony what the shield is doing there when he sees it in his workshop, so I assumed it was something that possibly Howard had been working on with SHIELD, since Tony isn't working with SHIELD yet.

It's also an IM1 easter egg spotted by the fans before IM2 was even an idea.
You can see it on Tony's bench when he gets back from the Galmera mission with the MKIII and the gantry can't take the suit off.
