They did the ankle ball blue becuase when it was attempted gold it stood out just as much. They thought it would look better where it appears dark and not gold.

As for the hip joints...you xeno said they show on the sitting pose but I didn't notice them. As for the knees...this is a figure that they anticipated would be moved between standing and sitting and full knee range both often and for long periods of time. So they wanted a very sturdy joint. Becuase of where it is in relation to the stand they didn't think covering it would be smart. And having a rubber body was a no go. There's not really a great way to do it unless they went hulk and did a swap out lower torso. Which was looked at but that adds 75-150 to the price and with the throne also makes the box way to big. There isn't a perfect way to do it.

I just seen the xenom0rph review on Thanos and that thing is the biggest piece of garbage Hot toys ever produced, looks like a 20 dollar toy you would see in toys r us!!!

Great review as usual though xenom0rph:clap

Looks awesome. Can't wait to get him.

And people wonder why they didn't do this, or that. People see things so differently. Biased based on their own wants and preferences.

If you can find a toy at toysrus even close to this for 20 bucks...good luck. The little 6 inch exposed joints in clear bubble packs are 20 bucks and they have production runs ten times what hot toys does. But sure.

As for worst ever..again...sure. Lol mms001 is far better then thanos. Yep.

Half the people hate rubber based bodies. The other half slam exposed joints. They all want 80 points of articulation and five heads and it to cost 60 bucks. Lol

Its great if you guys are happy with it, sorry to rain on your parade but I felt I had to say my piece, yeah the 20 dollar comment was an overreach on my part, honestly though I could see something like that at TRU for 39.99 without the chair and not think twice about it, those joints are an eye sore for such an expensive figure, they could have done a nicer job and have many times before, this to me is not the Hot Toys standard of quality.

What's your source for this info? I only ask because I really can't believe that anyone at HTs actually thought having the ball joint blue looks better than if they were the same gold as the feet. I'm calling BS here.

You're welcome to air your opinion but it was a bit hyperbolic. In essence though, I do agree with you about the joints - the arms in particular are bad but I think I can live with them.

I see you added to your post so I will address this as well, so you have to go back nearly a decade to find a worse looking action figure than the one that was just released and 4-5 times the cost, not making a great argument for yourself:lol

I also never said I expect hot toys figures to cost 60 bucks, I have an extensive collection of their products and most times they are worth what they ask for them, this time that is not the case IMO.

YES overpriced and bet wont be a huge run of these maybe 2nd release time around will be larger run. I love my villian's and this is the highest priced figure i'v bought other then 89 ride or hulk. I dont think u can judge correctly until see him in hand. I dont want to wait til 2017 or 2018 for gold gauntlet hands for another THANOS release. I still think he will break up the collection and be a eye catching favorite to hang with all my evil bad guy's plotting evil plan's. I read his Marvel WIKI story the other day and really love his backstory. I think may need a lady death to hang next to Thanos. I'm suprised no one has kitbashed a RONIN figure from cheap blue watchman figure.

Good point but how's this for a comparison?

There's your $26 dollar figure versus HTs Thanos :panic:

Its all in who u like i wish i didnt like and need THANOS in my collection. It sure would save me few buck's i could use on many other things this time of year.

A lot of people are giving out about the joints at the elbow. The predators have visible joints at the elbow too and it didn't bother a lot of people.

I think it's the chunkiness of the joint, which is to be expected for such a... chunky figure. I can't see how it could have been better other than a) rubber arms (no thanks) or b) some fabric clothing (???). Like I said though, it sticks out in certain poses but I can live with it.

The sculpt wins.

The joint is visible but honestly I didn't notice it until people started complaining. I was impressed with the sculpt and armor.

Displayed with my other villains I doubt I'll pay much attention to the joints.

Maybe I did come across to rough, I'm usually not into bashing on figures, there is enough of that already on the forum, I was just taken back when I seen the review at what I saw, just looked bad to me...

Not really sure the point your making, they look to be in the same class of toys to me, ones just bigger and has a slightly better paint job:dunno

True, I'm not going to drag this out, if you guys like the figure that's great, enjoy your purchase, that's what this hobby is for. Their is plenty enough options for collectibles to chose from, I'm not interested in this anymore but those who are that's cool.

I'm not bothered by anything with this figure. well def not anything to keep me from buying him. I can't wait to own this!!

It doesn't bother me. He is a chunky guy.

The joints aren't anything new, that was shown with the proto, was there an expectation that they would be hidden for release? Personally, I don't care between rubber or visible joints. I think they did the right thing with Thanos, the armor sculpt is phenomenal in detail and same goes for the face, that to me is worth the price of the figure. Back to what I was saying though, regardless of how they look I think joints are the only way to make him work, that armor would look terrible in a rubberized design and the only other option would be a fabric cover. I think the only work around which I wouldn't be surprised to see if they do a second release would be an AoU Hulk style solid upper torso, arms crossed or gauntlet raised or something. All in all, I cannot wait to get this figure.

I can see where Skull is coming from. They're big, exposed elbow joints that are neither hidden by clothing nor are they rubber like Hulk, Thor or John Matrix.

But I'm not sure what HT could've done differently. Is Thanos wearing a bodysuit underneath his armor?

:dunno

They could have done an undersuit of some sort to hide the joints, but that would have ran the risk of tearing or sliding around because of the armor plates.

Like IABRH said, maybe they'll have a switch out torso for the IW version.
