Well, I know that I CAN'T get this one. I simply can't afford to get it right now. And even if I could, it would be a hard sell because there just isn't enough value there IMO for what they're charging. Like I said, for that price there needs to be accessories (his throne is just his stand, like the classic predator's was the hunting camp or X3 Wolvie's was the Sentinel head, and he doesn't even look right sitting in it), there needs to be more hands, and alternate heads. I know he's bigger than normal and his costume is elaborate (though no more so than Thor or Vision), but that's just way too much for just a figure.

Especially considering that you know there will be a better version when Infinity War comes out. There absolutely will be. Marvel is their cash cow. And if they're going to make Iron Man armors that don't even appear onscreen, there's no way in hell they're not going to do another version of the MCU's ultimate big bad when it finally becomes his time to shine.

Sound point, but I have been a Marvel fan for years and I am excited to get a figure of Thanos. Some of us like the character because the way it was portrayed. Some however just like the character. I am sure a 3rd party will make a gauntlet for it at some point. Other than having the gauntlet I don't see how he could be very different. But I have been wrong before. But I don't want to wait 4-5 years for a figure of him either. Regardless what he has or hasn't done in the movies Thanos is a classic character. Speaking of classics hope we see Kang in the future also.
I'm definitely waiting. $400 for a character that is sure to be made again and hasn't even done anything on screen yet? Not to mention the DC, civil war and Star Wars stuff all coming out? Yeah I'll wait on this one for sure

My villains collection is pretty weak. I only have Loki and Winter Soldier for Marvel. I can't wait to have Thanos looming behind them.

I might get a red Sentry if they make one, to represent Ultron.

I am very much hoping for a red Sentry as well. But they can wait until I get more of my card paid off ;)

He comes with a massive throne, that's a much more useful accessory than extra hands and heads that end up staying in their box.

If you're always holding out for a better version, the next figure will always be better so why buy anything?

So the stand isn't worth the extra money but some hands and a head are? That seems pretty off to me.

As for the Thor and vision comparison...again, it's off. First, thanos is the size of hulk. So a 300 dollar figure that's essentially naked. This is 100 more with armor and a diorama stand. Next, thors costume costs are spread out over at least three seperate releases so far. And is, again 35% smaller. Vision is more of the same. Except the costume is fabric. Which thanos isn't. Thanos is a sculpted item. Meaning it requires tooling, not a sewing machine and fabric. Tooling is the single most expensive production cost (licensing and all that isn't production). Given that Thor has a resumed body and modified sculpt it's tooling amount is maybe 10% that of thanos.

As far as how he looks on the stand...that's all subjective. If you are referring to his ankles and feet becuase they are not flat..it may not be as cool to look at, but given the way the stand is constructed it's realistic. A persons ankle joints won't allow them to naturally relax the feet flat in that pose. Most people can't get them to go that way with effort. The stand foot rest would have needed to be adjusted back and down. Which is probably a better look. But I am willing to bet there's a reason it is like it is. Probably something to do with stress on the knee joints. Keeping them bent at a 90 degree angle would probably create super loose joints over time.

As for the first part of your post. Totally understand if you can't afford it. It's not cheap. But that's a seperate issue to the others.

Should probably have clarified. I know I wouldn't have room for the giant stand so that would go unused, whereas I like to change up their poses periodically so alt parts would be of much more use to me. Hence why that would have more value for my dollars.

That is true about all the tooling. Hopefully when they do the inevitable IW one they can reuse a lot so it won't be as much. I know that's why Ultron is so expensive, but that's more obvious. I don't know, for some reason this one just seemed excessive.

And I didn't realize Vision's costume was cloth. I guess it probably says that somewhere, but honestly I've only looked at the pics they posted on their Facebook page.

It's funny to me how people complain about waiting a year for a figure, but willing to wait 4-5 years for another. Just food for thought.

You guys wait all you want, all I know is that this guy can't be displayed, on top of my Detolf, with Loki standing next to him soon enough. Is it Jan already?:lol

I will have to buy another display case for him and adjust the shelves. He is top shelf material!

Plastic Enemies posted a Thanos pic.....indication The Mad Titan is being released soon?

It would be nice, but I don't think you can trust every post by plastic enemies. Most the time it leads no where. They have destroyed any credibility by continuing to post those type of pics when nothing happens.

This. About 6 months or so ago, he put a pic of Drax up. When I called him out for trolling, he said he was just keeping the hope alive and did not have any info of Drax being released. He may have been right with the bat, but I would take anything put on FB with a grain of salt.

He was posting Hawkeye teasers in the days before his release. Seems a bit early for Thanos but we'll know soon enough.

Yes, but he posted drax for 14 months, and lots and lots of others. Occasionally he gets it right. But it's wrong so often there's no credibility.

He posted iron legion twice in may. Ultron prime in May, June, July. And so on. If he was right even 50% of the time it would be better. But it's more like 1%. At best.

Yeah and he got the drax photo from a post on weibo. Which is the China Twitter. I saw it there 30 minutes before he posted it.
