Something told me to order him a couple weeks ago. Glad I did. I wasn't going to wait like I did for Star Lord (and now have to wait for the next movie *sigh*)

How much did this guy retail for again? My LCS has him currently for $225 I think but said they have 20% off everything come Labor Day so I might try to hold off until then.

Didn't have much time to futz and dig in but I had to crack the coffin and see what the hype was about. Love this fig!! A couple super quick and dirties.
It sucks to see that people missed out and have to go scrambling around now. The trend of how things were selling over the last year+ definitely makes it hard to gauge how to play your hand.
I know it’s common belief that the long sell-outs were due to HT overproducing and now they are cutting back, but I’m not sure I’m convinced of that. I think that the large majority of things that seemed like they couldn’t be given away were all less popular for certain other reasons. It may be they were good figures that came from lukewarm movies (i.e. DW Thor, MoS Supes, Mandarin), because they had likeness issues (i.e. Banner, DW Loki, Crow), they were secondary characters (i.e. most Iron Man HP armors), there was a scare of common QC issues (ED 209, ASM 1 Spidey) or they didn’t meet expectations on other levels like Robocop’s finish or Stealth Cap’s physique & articulation.
I think the whole hack and slash ½ the inventory sale with 3X rewards is something of the past. It seemed to be an odd year because there was just a giant line up of these second and third rate figures; so many that the ones who did sell-out somewhat fast were overshadowed (i.e. Celtic, Scar & Elder Preds, Mark 42, Winter Soldier). It got to the point where people were saying in January that they’ll wait until Spook to pick something up when it’ll be 50% off

Now were seeing a different trend where popular characters from popular movies are flooding the roster. Add a well-made piece that meets fans expectations to that kind of popularity and it’ll be sure to sell out like the days of old. I think that that Star Lord, Groot, AoU Cap and the Stormtroopers are signs of how figures that hit on all cylinders will sell. I wouldn’t expect excellent final products from lines like Aou or Star Wars to linger around very long.

So I have three down: Cap, Black Widow and MK XLIII. I posed each one for display in the exact poses as the prototype figures for each respective character were posed at this expo. Including the Ultron MK1 on MK XLIII's base.

This hobby is expensive as hell and it's good to try and get the best deals, but being penny-wise and dollar foolish is counterproductive. Like the other guys said, jump on it before it's too late. You won't get the points but that's $10 less than SS. With this already waitlisted everyone will be scrapping the shelves of local shops dry. Labor Day falls on the 7th this year and I have a hard time believing this guys will linger on shelves another 4 weeks.

Yeah, there were a few things on mine out of the box that I needed to straighten up and adjust. Cutting a few loose threads, straightening his utility belt and pulling down his pants a bit so there's a bit of white showing underneath the middle red stripe.
