- Along the same lines as the extended LOTR movies which were as they should be and therefore far better :lecture

I'd be perfectly A OK with a 3 hour version of AoU. :)

The return of the king feels better paced with the extended cut, some key scenes in that.

If they are going to release a 3 hour extended edition, hoping for a different outcome for ultron, has I always felt iron man and Ultron should have slugged it out in the final battle. Much like Frankenstein and his creator, the fitting end should have been them 2 battling it out.

If Downey jr was going to leave the franchise it would have been fitting Ultron killing him, and then vision killing Ultron, one creator killing the other

I forgot how sad he looks in that pic. Don't cry, Ultron...

Now who remembers this?

I agree with TROTK thing. The directors cut of Watchmen is also a much much better film and can't go back to the theatrical cut.

Agreed with regard to ROTK - My favourite is the 2nd (if I had to choose of course), so suffice it to say I was more then happy to have an extended version :lol
But yes, the extended cuts for all three really made for a more complete and enjoyable watch!

Ultron - I'm not so sure, I would have liked to have seen Vision and Ultron face off more then say Tony. I mean Tony is the more obvious but Vision was supposed to be his last version.

IF it were Ultron vs IM I don't know about killing stark, more seriously injuring - both pushed to the absolute limit (sort of like IM 1 where the 45 is all but scrap - sections missing and ultron battered - and perhaps before he could deal a fatal blow, Vision or maybe (and ironically) Scarlet witch stops him (as apposed to the bus scene where she rips out his reactor / heart.

The thing is about an extended cut of AOU, All I would want is more scenes of Thor and Selvig talking about his dream and to go on the mission to get into that cave. That's all I want. Cause Thor is just all like hey Selvig I need help. And they just happen to pop up at the cave with very little explanation to why the waters will help him. I'm sure there had to be a scene where Thor actually talks to Selvig about what Thor's dream was and why he needs help. What the hell was in Selvig's box? Okay no, I need that finished part of the movie as well as a scene with why the twins end up going to the church instead of just happening to want to talk to Ultron with no explanation.

Yes, if they can fill in gaps in the way the LOTR extended cuts did, that would be awesome. I would love to be able to experience both the theatrical cut as well as an EE.

The fellowship was always my fave, my big problem with the films, I just hate how they handled Sauron in the films I could write half an essay on how terriblly handle his last alliance scenes, and just how he is represented really spoils the films for me, the way denethor is written which if they did stick to the books, could have been fantastic, and of course the battle at pelennor fields with the armys of the dead did ruin that great battle

On that, yea I would agree. I only said kill stark off if downey jr was not going to renew his contract with marvel, may is well finish the character off.
I do think 3 hero's could have died in AOU, black widow should have been killed by ultron, gives that huge almost dark knight theme to AOU on why HULK has exiled. AOU was also a good platform to trim down some characters, because by the time infinity wars comes along they got to trim down the amount of hero's are in this film. Maybe we will get this in cival war who knows

Some characters definitely need to die. If they're waiting for infinity wars to start dropping bodies then fine but it's starting to get old. Quicksilver was a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping they saved characters for bigger plot roles later on because there was definitely potential for widow and Hawkeye to die a good death.

Well its a 2 part film, so they could do it which sets up part 2 brilliantly, hoping cival war is a good way of trimming down the characters

Probably why game of thrones is the standard of books/TV show of killing characters off to benefit the plot of what is to come. Yea we love certain characters, but they cannot all be in it
