So I've been pretty out of touch - will this figure's red eyes etc be from LED? Does that mean when he's on display he's going to be all grey?

dont worry, i think the king arts ultron prime is a driving force to push HT up their development to a new level.
HT wont allow their ultron prime look worse than the king arts one. we should be able to see in less than a month.

I've been somewhat anti-KA for awhile due to their lack of actually producing anything beyond prototype... But I really want that Ultimate Ultron.

I find it odd but also great that UU for king arts is just a pack of accessories that fit on the prime figure... Hot toys would never do anything like that.

Pretty much what we should have gotten with this release but alas it'll be another figure for them to sell if they even bother making it. Would rather have it set up like this so that you can easily swap out a single figure between the two looks.

Kinda cool to see that a Ultimate Ultron will ultimately just be the base Prime figure with these add ons on top.

^ Old sculpt is the new sculpt (since it was the most accurate anyway) only now it looks less rough and seem to have been refined. Also...



Yeah this was brought up before, basically Ultron's neck needs to be thicker to make it really accurate. Only problem is that the physics of how his actual neck works in the film is practically impossible to replicate unless the figure never had an internal LED core, so the small frame of the figure's neck was a necessary compromise to maintain the head/neck joint and the LED feature. Honestly I can live with it.

I wish they lightened up on how deeply engraved some of the line work is but I can live with it. I can live with the neck too. I don't know why they couldn't make it bigger since Heartbreaker has a similar situation with a thick neck and LED function, but whatever. They are a few imperfections like every figure has and I'm still pumped for this. After seeing KA's now I really want a HT Ultimate. I'll probably get KA's if HT doesn't make one; not the scale I want but it looks good as hell

Yeah I don't like the head and neck of this figure. HT is such a great company and produces more great stuff than not, I don't quite understand their struggle with getting this right . Hopefully we get a surprise when the figure actually releases and we finally see in hand pics. But, like most here, I'll still pick this up

Sometimes, what looks "right" to some individuals is simply what they want it to look like according to their own personal preference; not necessarily what the character actually looks like in the film.

I would not want to pay for all those extra parts. They should offer a more expensive version of the figure so they people who want extra accessories to play with can pay for it and the rest of us don't get stuck with expensive extra crap that will stay in the box.

Which would mean a large part of the cost would not be evenly distributed through the entire production run. Unlike Hulk where the tooling for the base figure (the not smash torso version) is already spread out over multiple product runs, the version that added those extras would not have the base prime already generating revenue. With oversized and higher priced figures doing a release like that is not really a good idea. It's the same reason Thanos did not have an option to not have the throne. (Well part of the reason)

None of the above, unless by Sideshow you mean Hot Toys, in which case it's Hot Toys(imo)

This is the one time where I actually kinda wish that this Ultron kinda had an expression kinda like in that gif as he fires his...lasers? Don't wanna call them repulsors...but yeah. Some kind of a meanish "i'm gonna kill you" kinda look on him. But I hope the head does turn out well. He's supposedly coming out somewhat soon isn't he?

I think he's slated for April or there abouts
I would like that kind of expression too, or any kind really, personally I'd love an angry one, any kind....

Also I think lasers is as good a term as any
