I have an "Item(s) Shipping Soon" status on my UP order as of yesterday evening. Not sure if that means it will be shipped today and I'll receive it tomorrow on a Saturday, or it will be shipped on Tuesday due to the holiday weekend.

Those that have not seen him in person and are getting him are going to be very happy I think. It's a great figure

I have neither at the moment, but will get the 45 when I can afford it. Haven't really felt the urge to get Prime, though I do think he looks great.

Ill be getting both Prime and 45 but im skipping all solo movie figs until Avengers 3.

What's better: this or the 45?

:)

i would personally go with the 45.

i'm starting to have second thoughts about getting this figure. the more i think about plunking down that kind of money on what is essentially my 3rd favorite look of his, the harder it's getting to keep my preorder.

i've been thinking about canceling this and preordering the mark 1 version instead, and then just wait it out until we get an ultimate ultron.

if every review i've read/seen hadn't praised how stunning this thing is in person, i probably would've cancelled a few days ago. so, i don't know what to do. i've had this preordered for like 15 months.

maybe i'll keep my preorder.. pay for it, keep it in my pile of loot until the mark 45 arrives.. and between now and then i'll give myself a little more time to decide. hopefully by then we'll have seen some more photos of the mark 1 and gotten a better idea of its articulation.. or maybe a miracle can take place and an ultimate version will be revealed.

There's no good answer to that question without knowing what things you prioritize.

The mk45 is the best engineered iron man figure to date. It looks amazing as well. But it's one of a half dozen iron man figures that are all great. From the 45 to the 6. Not even counting the 46.

Prime is just one version of a character, and not the most iconic, (mk1) or the final upgrade (ultimate)

However, prime is imo better looking then ultimate. And is very different from mk1, so having both isn't a real issue. It's a very imposing figure, nearly 17 inches tall. It has the best base hot toys has done yet. It doesn't have the best articulation, largely due to character design. But it achieves pretty much any pose. It's a great figure. And far more unique then any iron man figure.

It really comes down to what things you value more. Either figure is a good choice.

I wouldn't really say that the Mk 1 is the most iconic especially nowadays.

Most people barely even remember it now beyond the first trailer (which gave a very different impression of the film anyway). By virtue of Prime having the most exposure, the design stuck on as the most default form of Ultron. It's practically marketed as Ultron's normal look nowadays (for better or for worse), to the point that it has carried over various merchandise and multimedia.

It's remembered well enough that most artists that draw Ultron's movie version would normally use his Prime design as the go-to reference (despite Ultimate being much easier to draw). Not to mention the fact that, as some people mentioned here, it's what Ultron looked for 75% of the film and that's not even accounting for how it seemed like the one that was given the most thought during the design/concept art process.

Yeah and I think that's where it really comes down to. I'm still curious to see how the Mk 1 will turn out but over time, I find that the Prime design generally encompasses what I want out of the movie version of Ultron anyway, enough that I'd be fine either way if Ultimate were made or not. That said, a red Ultron Sentry Prime would be great though, be it a clean version or the "last one" with the battle damage reminiscent of his Mk 1 appearance.

Personally I'd prefer going for Prime since it's Ultron's main film design. Also instead of Mk 45, I'd prefer the Mk 46 by virtue of the more "complete" design revisions as well as the Tony HS, and not to mention how it's based on a film that gives more focus and screentime on Tony's character.

You guys are very patient. When I have a figure paid for I want it asap. No pile of loot for me ever.

I'll be waiting until this is available for shipping at Sideshow before I either buy it outright or put it on flexpay (more likely). I would go with the Mark 45 over this just because it is Iron Man and it's the first new primary armor (red/gold + Tony wears it for a substantial length of time) mold we've gotten in a long time. Mark 43 was the last, and it's basically the same as the Mark 42, so that's a couple of years since our last primary armor. We've had others from the house party protocol to fill the void until now, but when you think about it, it has been a while.

Don't get me wrong - I like Ultron Prime. It's just less of a priority for me.

1 payment down. 2 more to go and it will be mine. I used $100 in rewards points so the monthly flex pay is not too painful.

I ordered mine through a local store im friends with. Ordered at wholesale so I got a decent chunk taken out :yess: i just don't get the sideshow emails, so I'm relying on this thread for shipment updates :lol

it's taken me quite a long time to develop that sort of patience lol. i used to not be able to use the pile of loot feature.. i thought i never would use it. but, these days i'm able to do. for some reason i think a self imposed wait is easier than a wait for a figure to actually be release. plus, it's fun having a bunch of stuff to open up all at once.

however, i'd like to be able to wait it out and ship everything when war machine mark 3 becomes available.. but that's where i draw the line, that wait would just be excessive.
