I am so happy I didn't pre-order this thing. I knew I made the right decision. Even if I do want it.... I can still get in 2017. Glad I used the $900 to round out more 1/6th figures that I have been enjoying on my shelf for months, instead of having that money tied up. Funny that after all the hype for this figure that people are cancelling. People that have been posting in this thread countless times everytime I checked in for pics... are cancelling or contemplating it. What a waste of time and money, considering it is still available from SSC and will likely not sell out. Let's not forget the reward points people will lose for cancelling. Then the cancellation fees... and maybe even the first payment. What will it be... two years now until someone gets it?

Well there are no fees or lost rewards points for canceling. Not when there's a delay. An actual delay by the manufacturer not a sideshow expected arrival delay. So no one loses anything.

Well if you read back it seems SSC has actually been giving people a break and refunding their NRDs as well as their RP

EDIT: Motux beat me :lol

Well, I'm happy you're happy. Personally the wait doesn't bug me at all, it's just going to make the payoff when he arrives that much better. Plus it wouldn't surprise me one bit if all these cancellations combined with the delay result in a lower production run. I have a feeling he won't be as easy to come by post release as allot of people seem to think .

And the delay isn't a massive delay. It just seems worse Becuase sideshow estimated it to arrive way to early. Hot toys had it estimated all the way to the end of July 2016 to start with, so if it drops by the end of the year that's only a few months of actual delay. The CMC versions have not even gone up for sale and where shown 6 months before hot toys. The king arts 1/9 was like 6 months late in Hong Kong and will be longer in USA. So for a figure this oversized an extra few months doesn't seem like that big a deal. At least to me.

Here I was thinking I was crazy for not using the flex plan or a single reward point on this thing. Maybe the fact that I've only paid the NRD is why I'm not so upset about the delay. :dunno

That said, it's great that SSC is offering to refund NRDs, payments, and reward points to those who have committed so much to this. :hi5:

I'm not bothered in the least about having paid for most of this already or using any points.. I just see an opportunity to cancel so I can order it again with more points and a gift card haha

I didn't actually cancel mine. Just got a refund then odered it again but paid in full this time. Rather use the funds now to get what I want instead of having 700 bucks tied to a preorder for another 9-10 months. I'm just happy they did it with no problem.

You're happy you didn't order because of a delay? Okay.

If anything this hobby has taught me, it's to have patience. This figure is getting a large delay. There's no denying that, but this figure is going to be the centerpiece to any MCU collector. It may be a long way until March, but once we have this figure in hand, all the delays will seem worth it.

Cannot wait for this to be released. I waited 8 months before. I can do it again. This time, it's going to be much easier on my wallet as I only have one payment remaining. So I can still keep collecting in the meantime. :)

Guess I missed that. I only read someone got a refund from a German seller, not SSC. Surprised they did that. Still glad I didn't have money tied up for multiple months wasting away. Instead I got to buy and enjoy five figures.

Don't feed :lol

I bet you used hundreds of dollars in reward points. Enjoy that wait.

You were the smart one. I was going to do the same if I decided to get this and just put aside the $900. Since I didn't decide to get this... I just spent the money instead :lol

See you all next Easter. :wave

You're happy you didn't order because of a delay? Okay.

No, I'm happy I didn't order so I wouldn't have had $900 tied up for months to a year on end when I could have spent that money elsewhere. So, basically I am happy I enjoyed five figures with that money instead of waiting for one. Plus, this thing won't be selling out anytime soon. Especially not now with all the cancellations. So, if I do want this beast again... I probably can just buy it when it is listed as "buy now" and enjoy the figure within five days and not be stuck waiting a year or two. Probably will still end up passing on this though. I bet this thing will be falling apart when it arrives. That, or just be a expensive statue.

So these two statements really made me think. Let me get this straight, you spent the $900 on figures? You tell a guy he's smart for not spending money on a large figure. In the process, you insinuate that we're dumb for having our money tied up on the HulkBuster.

Please get one thing straight. No one is calling you dumb for spending $900 on figures. Show the same respect to the people in this post. People are allowed to pick and choose how they spend their money on collectibles as they choose. Your attitude is coming off as snarky at best, a jerk at worst. Why comment on a thread to be disrespectful? Makes no sense to me.

Well.... who gives a company money for months on end... with nothing to show for it. Especially since the product being paid for... for months... is still available. Then on top of that, at the time, knowing if you wanted your money back... you would be hit with cancellation fees, lose the NRD, and maybe not even get the first payment back (do they still do that?) Then on top of that... knowing that you yourself could personally just put the money aside... so, then if you do need that money or want it to buy something.... you could just grab it from your own self, with no penalty or fear of missing payment, spend it, then have time to replace it because this figure isn't shipping out for months.

I'm not calling anyone dumb, I just don't understand the thinking. Why did people comment to me months ago saying how I was dumb for passing on this?

Aren't you the guy with the Groot wood bust?

Yes the EXTREME delay is puzzling and frustrating- two years possibly being released after the film came out? My excitement is low right now but I'll keep my BBTS PO because it hasn't cost me a dime (so far)

Sideshow has already refunded people their money, reward points and NRD for this figure for those wanting to cancel. Your point is invalid.

And here's a crazy thought. Imagine this for a second. People think differently than you. Crazy thought, I know, but hear me out. You finding joy in spending money and getting a figure is understandable. Instant gratification. You hand someone money, they hand you a figure. Both parties are happy.

Now imagine this. Someone finds joy in spending money over a period of time because they know in the end, the figure and time waiting will be worth it. Someone who is patient for an item they really want is still doing the same exact thing you're doing. Paying money for a product and getting that product. No, it's not instant, but it's the exact same thing. Some people can wait. Some people prefer instant gratification. Neither one is wrong.

I'm not calling anyone dumb, I just don't understand the thinking. Why did people comment to me months ago saying how I was dumb for passing on this?

No one should ever make you feel dumb for what you choose to spend your money on. That's the moral of my above post. Sorry if that got lost in translation.

Aren't you the guy with the Groot wood bust?

Sure am. Best Christmas gift from my family I ever received. :)

Two years after a film comes out is more like normal then not. Outside of the last few years...so the previous 12ish...most figures where released years after a movie. A1 hulk was years after the movie. (The banner set). Whiplash mk2. Batman returns. Drax. Pepper. Matrix. Marty. West batman. And hundreds more. Until Aou only a handful of figures had ever come out before a movie. And when it's an entirely new sculpt...prime,45,46,wm mk3....those all take a lot longer. The wait for mk46 is 16 months from order date. It's 1/10 the size.

It's really more common to have figures released well after a film then it is not.

If the items still up for order or not is irrelevant. And if you use that as a judge you would actually never ever ever ever buy anything....since it's has to actually be available for you to buy it.

If I want something I don't care if someone else is buying it. Which is all it selling out indicates. It's either worth it to me or it's not.

As for having your money tied up...if your spending the money anyway it's still tied up. If your only buying in stock items it's an entirely moot point. If our using it to PO other items...well it's the same thing.

On top of that...as of today it's not even late yet. As I said, hot toys said originally it could take up to the end of July 2016. So August 1 it's late in Hong Kong. They have stated they expect it to be late. And sideshow has offered to refund everything. They have never kept first payments from flex, only NRD. (Which is non refundable deposit).

Are you really using Marty, west batman, and burton batman to support your point?.. Those situations are completely different.

Not really. They could have made them 15 years ago instead of now. I'm not saying they could make them at the time of release of those films...just that there is nothing strange or irregular about figures coming out years after a property is released. It happens more often then the other way.

All of those figures where mms200 or later. Meaning hundreds of other figures where produced by the same company before they came out.

And if you like I can list hundreds of figures that are from films released after the first hot toys figures that came out years after the film.
