I have a UPS MyChoice account and use it for all my figures; I'd rather stop on my way home from work than have them sitting on my doorstep at 9am.

Exactly this is the season for porch pirates. There was one in my town going around stealing packages and was recently arrested.

Best solution is signing up for UPS mychoice. Free, and you can sign for the package, or have it held for up to a week at a local UPS store. I think I'll either be doing that or flexing this figure for a two-month type of thing.
Thanks. In the past I was able to call, but had to do so after the package left, and just didn't feel really comfortable doing that with something like this. I'll sign up.

Woo hoo! :woo:woo.

I have the opposite with my driver. They wont leave anything whether I sign for it or not. I think they just like delivering door stickers much lighter for them. :rotfl
Yeah, I suspect most people would prefer to have them just leave it, but with SSC stuff I really wish they wouldn't!

Unless you are in Cali I would not expect it as a stocking stuffer that's for sure. The UPS/FedEx shipping routes will be already crazy. I am waiting for mine to get held up in a railroad car accident going through North Dakota again like my X-wing Luke figure. :slap

If gifting it for Christmas, I suggest a printed copy of the figure page in a box, at least he would be there in spirit.

Whaaaaaaat? :lol:lol That sounds terrible :lol

Luke should have piloted the train :lecture

That never works for me. I sign online, and the guy comes up to drop off my package, walks off, then he comes back saying the system is asking for a signature.

I think I may wind up flexing this figure, so I can buy gifts for family, which sucks because I'd get this in time for Christmas being in socal and all.:gah:

Do you get your packages in a day or two from Sideshow? Someone else from CA mentioned having a problem with UPS mychoice with a tight window like that. I know I signed too late on the day of once and it didn't work for me and they just left a notice. I really like the drop off at UPS store option. It usually adds a day for me, but gives me some piece of mind.

So if Luke charges on the 22nd what day will he most likely be sent out? I'll be out of town the 28th through the 1st....

You could chat with SSC and ask what days they are processing order for the week of Christmas. I assume the 24th and 25th they would be off. So, it might get shipped out by the end of the day or on the 23rd.. if they are working that day.

Seems like they usually ship it out a couple of days after charging in my experience. Though recently I've read about items waiting a week or more to ship. Like you, I would prefer it to wait a few days. It takes about 5 days for a package to arrive at my place anyway, so if it ships out on, say, the 28th, I would be good.

:yess:

Though I wish they wouldn't ship so close to Christmas. Some folks go out of town to be with family, and may not be around when the figure arrives. If UPS actually required signatures as they are supposed to, this wouldn't be such a problem, but. . .

Nice work, Sam!!! :rock Luke is gonna run me close to the full amount as I only used a discount code, but the Sandtrooper is close to free thanks to RPs. :D

You may want to contact CS directly and find out a better timeframe. I've had to leave town before and they we accommodating to extend out the ship date one week for me. You will also run into New years as well the next week to get a shipment as well just to keep that in mind too so it could cause an extra day or two to get to you.

Damn end of year. Worst time to get packages.
