I actually think it's the hair color. Red Five's hairpiece on this looks much more like Hamill.

I think the eye colour throws the likeness off. If they were lighter I think it would look better. Definitely the way to go for the hair colour though.

This figure looks more like Hamill when you view it from a higher angel. So I'm considering moving this figure down a shelf in the detolf.

That's funny, I was thinking that same thing yesterday. You don't notice the egg head part either. I have him second shelf from the bottom.

Noob question. This is my first star wars figure and I'm having trouble getting the arm off to swap it for the lightsaber arm. I've pulled as hard as I feel I can shirt of breaking it but it's just not coming out. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks

That looks really good. Would you mind posting another pic showing the full figure?

Did you paint it lighter first and then wash it with the darker color?

I painted in the mid-tone first, then did a dark wash, to hit the detail, then painted in detail with some dry brush and some regular ol'painting! here are a couple of full shots.

You can dip the arm in hot water to loosen it up or bend the arm a bit backwards at the elbow and it will pop out as you pull.

Do you think the same effect could be made if the fringe on the HT luke hair was trimmed down ?

I've been wondering this myself, although I think you'd have to remove the magnet and carve out the plastic so the hair would sit lower, and trim it all the way round. I think it's possible - but scary. This sort of thing rarely looks 100% right.

I was also wondering if it's possible to carve out the plastic in the Red 5 hairpiece so it sits lower on the HT Luke.
