That's a great pic!

Thanks WG!

Better resolution here...

Great pic, Qui-Gon!

Man I just looked at the first page of this thread and the prototype sculpt was soooooo much better.

Yep. I remember a time when HT would improve from proto to production. Now they've gone the way of the Sideshow and are taking a step down from proto to production in many cases. Han was the same for me. Leia is the exception rather than the rule nowadays, unfortunately.

I still enjoy the figure but wish they'd take more interest in getting the sculpts in the SW line to look better.

Thanks, Coco!

I think the let down is especially hard to take when the proto is BREATHTAKINGLY awesome, like Farmboy Luke. When the HT line first started to ship, I was collecting them slowly here and there like everyone else, but I always had a mental circle around this one. The promotional photos were like looking at screen grabs from ANH.

I still maintain the he looks great in hand, but you do have to search for the "right" angles. But there's an extra emotional "awww, come on guys, gimme a break" when hopes are so high and you wind up with a great figure, but not the centerpiece of flaming awesome-hood you were hoping for and frankly expecting...

Now I'm living through this same scenario with Finn.

Nothing like posting a new pic and having the first comment be about how bad the sculpt is, LOL!

Hey, my comment had nothing to do with your photo, It's a great photo.

The difference between the proto and the production on this one is pretty staggering, to my eyes at least.

No offense taken, kazar. I know exactly what you're saying. Read the rest of my comment above. I totally agree with you...

I still the sculpt is fine, it's the hair that lets it down... I have a spare hairpiece from a HT head that I used for Luke x-wing, and I keep thinking about cutting it down (i.e. removing the magnet and cutting out some of the plastic, then cutting down the hairline) so it sits lower.

These Jingobell shots are some of my favorites. The production sculpt definitely has word class angles if you have the patience. It's just too bad that they sometimes play hide and seek...

If you take away the hair and the clothes I think a lot of people would have a hard time knowing who it was.

Hopefully Jnix sculpts him next though so I can finally pick this up as it really is a great set, likeness issues aside.

Anybody see the pics from this eBay ad? For some reason it looks a lot more like ANH Luke to me than he original HT sculpt even though it's got to be a recast.
