Just got my figure.

A simple, obvious pose. Seven months ago I'd never heard of Hot Toys, was googling to see if any decent Lego SW buildable figures were in the pipeline and found Michael Crawford's review of New Hope Leia... Mind blown.

Seven months later I have ten figures and this is my first non-Marvel, non Iron Man.

Early days - I'm not sure how to pose it – since unlike IM she doesn't fly or shoot repulsor blasts...

Although Hot Toys is not perfect by any means, the figures are often top quality and look excellent. Not good for the wallet.

Prototype in hand. Still gonna tweak it and try some other fabrics but it’s on the right track. She forgot the slit on the sides but it’ll be corrected for sure. Looks a whole lot better than the stock dress as is though.

Coco, that is looking good so far. Material definitely looks a bit thick. Can't wait to see the final product. And please do work with davejames. His looks fantastic.

Thanks Dave. I had a few I need to get before they sold out - hence the pace. Have to slow a bit now...

Got a get a stormtrooper or two, though, right?

I stand at the ready, but sounds like he already found something better to use.

Cindy’s pattern, apart from the hood and slit which she’ll be tweaking, is very good so if the material I found will work then we’re set. She used that white shirt material thinking it was easier to futz. Which it is but it’s just too thick and fuzzy.

I don’t think I found anything better than dj used fabric wise but I think it’s actually the same stuff. It’s very thin but super heavy and drapes really well. Reminds me of the material, if not the exact same, as Lforigno uses for his Batman capes. In fact I picked up some of it in black so she could do a custom Garandin cloak and Ventress “skirt” for me.

Aftermarket seamless bodies would be the next step.

Not sure where best to post these pics but messing around with my Jyn Erso figure (really not a fan of the sculpt), this happened. Seems like it would make a pretty badass Leia figure. Amazing the difference a solid head sculpt makes on a figure.

That might even look good with the TLJ Leia sculpt. Could make for a decent General Organa figure.

I’ve got the poncho on now, which was surprisingly involved to get on, doesn’t work with that especially since TLJ Leia has the earrings and looks too regal, but I’m curious about the regular outfit — would still probably need a fat suit.

Yeah, the stern expression on ANH Leia looks like she means business. It’s funny cause it’s always been a great sculpt. The “best” OT one when it first came out. Not sure what the current consensus is since ROTJ Luke is pretty good.

I’ve thought of doing that only with the Hoth Leia sculpt. I really like that Jyn figure. A lot of it is that she’s got a great outfit in my opinion.

The outfit is basically perfect. The sculpt just didn’t match the proto unfortunately. I’ll try with the Hoth next. Been digging up figures from the closet to see what needs to go. Not enough display space for the number of figures I have.

I’m not sure if I would make space for this type of thing in my collection but it would be cool to have a Leia like this, then use a Ford head on the young Han Solo figure.

I still like the sculpt we got for Jyn personally. Looks quite a bit like Felicity Jones to my eyes.

Ha, she looked good but I have the Yunsil dress and her little hair tendrils, which are really sharp, seemed like they were digging into the collar so quickly took it off.
