Jez that is an amazing deal! I think I paid over a $100AU more for mine. I wonder if it’s an error. Get in quick just in case!

Absolutely ridiculous price. If Zavvi had a better reputation than recently (where they didn't ship anything for weeks) I'd be mega tempted to cancel my preorder elsewhere and go with this. Forfeit the deposit too.

I’ve never had a significant problem with Zavvi, I buy movies and the occasional figure from them. A couple of items were a bit slower but they always showed up.

well, i ordered Marty and the HT light box as well for only EUR30 Hot Toys Back to the Future Logo Lightbox
I ordered from them before, multiple times, never had any issues so far. Zavvi is a big player... what are the issues you guys talking about? If it's shipping time, they might had the same issues as anyone else in the pandemic. (Hot Toys and most other stuff still comes from China after all ;-) )

I put my order in, but i'm sceptical it will be fulfilled. A few years ago, Zavvi offered BCS' Goldfinger and Oddjob for £168 each. I ordered both, but received an email a few months later, to say the orders had been cancelled. They refunded me, but it was just a big waste of time.

It’s reduced on the Australian website as well which indicates it’s probably genuine. I got my Two Face from them last year in a similar deal.

I actually called them about this a few weeks ago when I saw that it disappeared from their website. They said they do that when they dont have anymore preorder allocation to sell, but I doubt that. They said the same thing about Captain Rex, and as soon as it arrives in stock it appears on their website again.

They said that the Marty figure would be arriving in March, but it looks like it did not make the same stock shipment as Captain Rex. But I'll be calling them next week to check what's happening with it.

Never email Popcultcha! They take forever to respond, if at all. I find it's far easier to call, and any issue is typically resolved in a few minutes on the phone. The people answering the phone are quite nice, and I've never had any issue over the phone.

I called them today, and they said despite Captain Rex coming in, the Marty&Einstein set did not arrive in the same shipment. So they cant give an ETA on when that will arrive, since whatever supplier info they looked at also didnt have details. But the person reiterated that the preorder is still valid and all the preorders have been flagged as "urgent" so that customers will be notified immediately when it comes in.

So for now, it's just a matter of waiting......and waiting....

Yes I concur, emailed them about Captain Marvel figure no response. Rang them and they happily helped me.

Strangely their distributor Ikon does not have the Marty figure listed so they must be getting it from somewhere else.

Zavvi is definitely legit. I've had a couple of items arrive a bit bashed about before, but usually everything arrives in great condition. They used to be Virgin Megastores and are basically HMV's competitor in the UK.

Price at Zavvi is just minor lower than Sideshow. I’d rather go with them and play save.
But the lightbox is a great deal! Will look through ebay and compare prices before buying though.

Not totally sold on the Marty 2.0 being a noticeable improvement in any area except for the headsculpt. So while I decide weather or not to do a full upgrade, I bought the sculpt and put it on the 1.0. I was worried that the skin tone would be too different, but IMO turned out pretty well.

I can never decide which sculpt I prefer. I think I actually just about see MJF better in the first one. Of course I bought V2 and sold V1, with regret. Grrr.

It’s a toss up to me. Side by side there’s subtle differences like his vest, jacket, and socks.

Imo both versions don’t nail down MJFs likeness but V2 does have better clothes. V2 has grey socks but V1 has white which isn’t accurate. V1 has yellowish stitching on the vest, V2 the stitching blends in with the vest. Both don’t have the Nike swoosh which is a bummer.

Yeah I never got the Marty 2.0, in the end I didn't see enough improvement over the original sculpt. If the 2.0 Marty sculpt had been bang on I would of got it.
