i think so too. I know at least in europe you need to produce something, when holding a license within a few years, otherwise you will loose it again.

I just dont see what makes this $290 with that case. Marty at $285 also seems sky high for what you are getting.

I guess it is kind of cool that they didn't go with the guitar for this release making the original unique with the guitar. I'll give Hot Toys that.

The funniest bit in time-jump movie "Late for Dinner" is when the late 50s/early 60s guy sees prices in the 1990s future.

Wait, the new one is missing the sunglasses? WTF? I might have to reconsider PO this figure. First, the ****** looking dog that nobody wants, and now he doesn't come with the sunglasses? He wears them on the freaking movie poster.

This new version is supposed to represent and replicate Marty at Twin Pines Mall alongside Doc and Einstein. The original was meant to be of Marty from the movie poster. That’s why the promo shots of the original are replicating the poster and the new one is replicating the TPM scene with Doc. It is unfortunate, but I see what they are going for. Also the original Marty couldn’t wear the sunglasses. They were only meant to be “lifted” like in the poster.

I wish they could have at least included the radiation suit helmet (since the plutonium), magnum, or suitcase with Doc since those were all relevant within that scene. But again, I see they hope to have you pose this along with Marty as if the DeLorean is coming at them with Einstein in it.

Yea, that’s HT for ya. Even then, you think they could of at least included the radiation suit for Marty since it just goes over his existing clothes anyway. They def could have done a little more with this, but oh well. I was hoping they would have included the bulletproof vest and letter with Doc.

They've already replaced Marty + Doc and stuck the Shang-Chi dude at the top of their FB page.

Probably because Marty will be available next week. I know in Japan it is supposed to be available when they open the new “Retro Tor Sapiens” store in Tokyo to go along with the BTTF exhibit. I am not sure the exact date it is available in HK but I know it is like within the next week or so.
I am going to the new store opening in Tokyo on the first day. Still undecided if I want/need the Marty.

I can't blame them. One is a 40 year old film and the other one is brand new and breaking records. Imagine it's 1985 and BTTF is the # 1 film in theaters, would HT put on their website (if they had website then) BTTF or a classic from 1945, like The Lost Weekend.

Take a look. SS listed the release between Jan-Mar of 2023.

Also yea, not only should they include a new HS because of the release timeframe, but also because it is completely inaccurate (if it is just a reuse of the BTTF2 head). The part 2 Doc got the surgery (forgot what he called it) that overhauled his skin and whatnot, making him appear younger with less wrinkles and such. So part 1 Doc never got that and he appeared with much more wrinkles and stressed out. So they should at least add more age to this HS to make it scene accurate. As well as his hair being more “wild”.

To be fair, they still might have a different head. Fan outrage changed the MK85 head. I think a “comfuzzled” older Doc head would be great. But even a less shocked younger looking one would be fine. They have a year and a half to make it.

I do hope so. I mean, this head still has the slits on the sides for the part 2 silver glasses…. I don’t mind the expression at all. I actually do like the part 2 headsculpt. I see Christopher Lloyd in it with ease. But when in the film they show how Doc gets a “de-aging” procedure and pulls off the wrinkled version of his face in part 2 because he was too worried Marty wouldn’t recognize him, then I would expect that being reflected in the portrait. I do expect some kind of changes being that it releases early 2023.

It is also a little weird that I guess they didn’t have a Doc on display at all at secret base? I feel they are holding back and going to display Doc with the Delorean possibly. Maybe I missed it.

Possibly.
I have POd Marty because I was forced to sell my PTI version during Covid due to cash issues. And several times I’ve floated the idea of selling my PTI Delorean, with no takers.
I haven’t POd Doc yet as there’s going to be a bit of a wait.
But even with this portrait I will get him as this is my fave look for him. Here’s hoping the change the headsculpt.
