I pre-ordered the Doc. I already got the first Marty so i'm not double dipping just for a cheap plastic dog.

I get that both of those stores jack up prices for batches and whatnot, but the pricing is still really weird. $300 for Deluxe Doc but $380 for Marty?!?!?

When they were first listed on TW, it was at the same price. The algorithm they use to jack up high demand and lower stock items quickly jacked up the price on Marty. A lot of people went in on early FOMO buys.

A lot of us have been waiting years for this version of Doc (well perhaps not exactly this head sculpt) to go with OG Marty - now the new collectors will have to do the same although not quite as long. (If they make that release date)

I guess what I'm saying is all of this is stupid.

I passed on the Marty first release..so I preordered Marty now since the release is quick..but Doc 2023 release :slap

I’m not passing on Doc. One of my favorite films of all time, and even though it’s costly I’ll regret not buying it later on. Marty I’m going to ponder for a while.

Preordered Doc Deluxe. I want Einstein, but don't need another Marty. I really hope they revise the headsculpt between now and release.

I’m in the same boat with Marty. I guess I could justify a second version of him to have displayed in his Battle of the Bands look (no vest, and use the exclusive guitar from the original release). Not sure yet though..

I really wish Hot Toys would have included his yellow radiation suit. Would have made the release more tempting.

I think the plutonium case is a pretty big draw. It would be even more so if I had the DeLorean, but still it’s something I want to display with the figures.

Too costly for just a cute movie.

It's quite a bit more than that. People forget how wildly popular it was and to some degree still is. It has won all sorts of awards and continues to be a very common pop culture reference source to this day. It was also MJF at his best partnered with Christopher Lloyd and it was a trilogy with actually good/fun sequels. For my money it's a top five film franchise for sure.

Oh I remember that summer very well. Best movie of that year. And yes, it does still hold up. It's the best Disney movie never made by Disney.

Here is a fun little paragraph I just read on Wikipedia. $80 for a VHS tape in 1986? Wtf that was crazy expensive back then...

Back to the Future was released on VHS on May 22, 1986, priced at $79.95.[157][158] It was the first film to sell 450,000 units at that price point and was also the most rented cassette of the year.[159][160] A sequel was not planned until after Back to the Future's theatrical release, and a "To Be Continued..." graphic was added to the end of the film on VHS to promote awareness of future sequels.[161] When the film was released on DVD in 2002, the graphic was removed because Gale and Zemeckis wanted it to be as experienced in theaters.[158][161] It has not appeared in releases since.[161]
