There was a Scorpion in Homecoming? I remember the guys playing Shocker #1 and Shocker #2, but not a Scorpion.
The Gargan deal was mentioned and Gargan is the guy w a scar on his face at the ferry. He is bald too and then shows up with Toomes at the end credits prison scene.

Oh, that guy. I take it Mac Gargan is Scorpion's real name? Not exactly the same as actually having Scorpion in the movie. The actor was good in Better Call Saul though, so IMO it's unfair to say his Scorpion sucked when his becoming Scorpion was never a part of the movie lol.

Since we're discussing Spider-Man's villains right now, I might as well ask the question here.

I watched Venom again yesterday and just like the first time I watched it when it came out, I kept wondering: Is this how Venom is supposed to be?

My first introduction to Venom was in the Spider-Man cartoon from the 90's. In that he's like an unstoppable force, a clever predator stalking Peter and he felt actually scary in a way of being an unescapeable thing following Spider-Man.
And then we have the movie, where he's a permanently hungry jokester who's apparantly a loser on his own planet.

I'm not familiar with the comics, but is this how he is in there? I can imagine they had to make some adjustments to go from the 90's cartoon version to a real movie in which he's sort of the hero, and of course everything has to be funny in movies like that, but still... all the eating people and stuff? To me it felt weird.

But Mac Gargan can apear as Scorpion in the begining of the movie to loose and turn into Venom for the rematch against Spider-man, this would be a good way to make Venom different from his Sony version.

No, this is not how he's supposed to be, which is why a lot of comic fans dislike the Venom movies. The 90s cartoon is much more in-line with the comic version. Venom always used to talk about eating Spidey's brains etc, but from memory it wasn't like it is in the movie.

Yea that’s why those movies kinda suck tbh. For some reason Sony let avi arad have his way abs make his silly vebom movie with no connection to Spider-Man when venom and Spider-Man are basically one. Venom was born from his hatred of Spider-Man and in the movies he’s some big dumb lovable guy with a stupid voice and no connection to Spider-Man so he’s kinda boring . Venom works cause he’s a stalker and an unstoppable predator to Spider-Man

Yea he talks about eating chocolate instead 🙄

Had sort of neutral feelings on this suit before seeing the movie, but
it's definitely my main "must" now, even if the design itself isn't as excellent (to me) as some of his past suits, just because this was worn in arguably the 2 best action scenes and most pivotal 3rd act development; it'll be particularly needed for the line-up if/when they do put out a new Tobey and Andrew.

I expect #2 and #3 to be at least two weeks from release date to avoid spoiling most of the people that want to see it. But IMO, HT should be pounding away at those villains starting this week. Nothing spoilery about any of them. I even see an Iron Spidey reissue to go along with Doc Ock. I don't think the first one had instant kill mode red eyes that is a must. Wasn't in this movie but same can be said for the BD Black/Red suit that is better suited for the FFH movie than this one.

Yeah I think for the previous movies, Marvel/Disney had companies wait until the Monday after the second weekend to reveal anything spoilerish.

I'm not too sure about that bright electric blue color on the final suit myself. But then we didn't get a super clear look at it in the movie so I'll see if I like it any better on the HT figure.

Certainly looked pretty close to the MK IV except for the symbol and blue looked shiny not the red.

Interesting that I don't think the eyes move on that last suit either.
I'm pretty sure they do, they looked very similar to his normal lenses. Plus, him having eyes that move really adds a lot of character to him when he's masked, i doubt they would backtrack on that now. Even his crappy homemade outfit from Civil War/Homecoming had moveable lenses in the goggles

Thank you for clearing that up! :duff

I seemed to be under the impression the Venom movies (or at least the first one) did extremely well and were well liked, so I thought it'd probably just be me that didn't feel it was Venom like he's supposed to be, because I might've missed something from the comics.

Here's hoping that the piece of symbiote that stayed in the MCU will make for a different Venom, more akin to the cartoon/comic version. (With a Spider logo). He could be played by Tom Hardy, but in a whole different way (less of a drunken bum kinda way). But I'd wager it'd be a different actor in the MCU, just so people can differentiate the two versions better.
