Will see how it turns out 18-20 months from now...but as things stand, I'm out. I simply can't have that on my shelf.
That one at least looks like a human.Farmboy Luke
Yeah I have to agree the red nano arms are starting to grow on me, and don't really seem like a bad addition for an extra $30...So the terrible head and glasses aside...
No LEDs in the tentacle hands, huh? That's kind of a surprising omission.
Not gonna lie, I do kinda like the look of the nano-tech tentacles better - adds a nice contrast against the olive coat. Wouldn't pay extra for them though.

I'm guessing the tentacle arms aren't sturdy enough to support him like this without the stand, so I wish they had included a clear acrylic rod instead of the black dynamic flight pole.

Thanks for the link. That pricing makes no sense; if four extra tentacles only cost $30, then why is the base price $330 instead of $300?
This is the only head the figure comes with, I don't think they could have afforded to blur it on every photo without making the reveal look amateur.Yikes. The more I look at that sculpt, the more alien it looks... I'm glad JC said its not final, but that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either. They must have thought it was good if they revealed it without blurring it.
Well he did use them quite a bit when he came to the rescue at the end of the movie. But yeah, probably still not as essential or iconic as the original arms.So is anyone really gonna buy the deluxe? All he did with the red arms was be captured.
Doc Cuck.
He transfers the nano tech back to Peter in the apartment, no? He has his regular tentacles at the end I thought.Well he did use them quite a bit when he came to the rescue at the end of the movie. But yeah, probably still not as essential or iconic as the original arms.
He didn't, after Peter "cured" Doc, he transferred the nano-tech back to the Spidey suit, then the apartment fight happened shortly after.Well he did use them quite a bit when he came to the rescue at the end of the movie. But yeah, probably still not as essential or iconic as the original arms.
It looks like a melting wax man. That one at least looks like a human.
Ah ok, I didn't remember his gift to Peter draining all the nano tech out of his arms. Guess it's a good thing I already ordered the standard version! LolHe didn't, after Peter "cured" Doc, he transferred the nano-tech back to the Spidey suit.
Yup, the nano-tech tentacles were basically just handcuffs lol, the top arms were always closed too, really a worthless inclusion since you wouldn't even be able to replicate Doc being imprisoned with that goofy ass smile.Ah ok, I didn't remember his gift to Peter draining all the nano tech out of his arms. Name one. I easily think this is the worst I've seen, at least in quite a few years.
Luke was definitely on my mind, and not just that one, but essentially every Luke. Then every Han Solo, ep. 4 Obi Wan, and Lando Calrissian, and that's just Star Wars. Hot Toys' has always been hit-and-miss with likenesses.Farmboy Luke
Yup this is the expression that they should have gone with. The tailoring and tentacles look pretty sweet and it's good to see they didn't make the classic tentacles exclusive to the deluxe edition but holy **** that sculpt is bad, I don't know why they made him look so genuinely happy, he only looked like that once in the entire movie and that's when he met Tobey again.
Hot Toys should've given him a more neutral but fitting expression, something like this:

J.C Hong has already stated the sculpt isn't final which is good but seriously, unless the character is know for their iconic smile/laugh they should never go for these type of sculpts, a smirk, frown, etc, will almost always look better then these goofy sculpts with teeth showing, I'm worried for Green Goblin now.
And it doesn't even look like it's from that scene lolYup this is the expression that they should have gone with.
Weird giving Doc Ock such a giddy happy looking sculpt for a scene where he says one line in the movie.
Yeah, it's the Hello Peter shot.
Ultimately, I'm getting it. He looks good enough with the glasses.
