Some aspects of this they really cut corners to rush this out! Granted the vest buttons were printed on the promo I believe but no excuse for plastic sword and the hat!

I picked up a DX15 hat hoping it works!
Am happy I own all the HT Jacks but IMO being able to switch parts wasn't the reason I kept them all.:pfft:

Although, am not going to start trashing this fig, since I don't have it in hand yet. The only JS was never happy about was a Medicom version via Amazon that I returned - that was way back COTBP.

They need to re-release Will and Elizabeth. Glad I have the rubbery version of Davy Jones to go with, and a Barbossa.

So after watching Justin's video I'm actually blown away with how good the sculpts are!

I honestly thought " ok I prefer DX15 sculpts" after seeing the side by side hands down Artisan wins!

Looks mind blowing in some shots on justin's review and thats comming from justin's review, In hand it will look even beter.

Mine is getting here friday. Also scored a dx06 hat from the secondary market for €50 curious if it fits well. It fitted my dx15 back in the day and it looked way better then the dx15 hat so worth a shot. Shouldn't have sold it with my dx15. But who expected such a bad hat on the new one lol

-Shrug-....Sounds like bad choices which isn't unusual with fitting 1/6.

Either a hat that won't fit the dreads and spins around like a top, or a big hat that won't destroy the dreads but looks oversized.

Am a bit bummed about not getting a diecast sword.
They definitely should have put more effort and engineering into making a good hat since it’s such an important part of the outfit. He still manages to look awesome without though

Came so close to ordering the Artisan edition from TBA last night. Came out to $700 USD after shipping, so about $130 more after taxes and shipping at Sideshow if I got a conversion.

Will I be satisfied enough with the deluxe edition??

Justin posted his review, in it he compares the Artisan version to the DX15 and showcases just how awful the new hat is, I'm thinking I'll hunt down one of the sculpted hats or try to make one myself.

Surprises me the things Justin doesn't know about about the previous figure(s) considering he's reviewed them, that he feels is new on this figure.
  • Like the magnet on the belt to hold the sash in place. I know it was on the DX15 but might've also been on the DX06 belt
  • The embossing on the baldric/chest belt which has been there since the DX06 yet he says was previously only possible if it was sculpted plastic/rubber.
  • The striped pattern on the back of the vest/waistcoat which has also been present since the DX06.
  • The sculpted forearms which have been present since the DX06
  • the weave of the jacket material is the same as DX15 just tailored better. The buttons and the pleats at the back have also been there since the DX06
One thing is for certain which I've been saying all along, especially for those who have said that this is just the DX15 with a new head, the outfit has been completely redone and tailored so much better. It can be seen so clearly even in Justin's comparison with his mediocre futzing of both.

I wonder what's underneath the fabric bandana. I think the Artisan would look much better if it had a thinner and smaller one that didn't look so rounded.

As promised (threatened ;) ), Sideshow charged me today for Artisan Jack.

Every time I do business with them, I'm reminded why I don't. I just think it's wrong to charge people when the item is not ready to ship. Particularly, when they even state it won't ship for another two weeks (10 business days). On top of that, I still feel like they're overcharging for shipping. My quote includes a $25 shipping charge, but when I plug all the numbers into the UPS calculator, my cost to THEM is only $21, and you know they have negotiated a much lower rate with UPS.

I got charged today as well. My shipping was also $25 but for double boxing. Did you double box yours or just shipping as is in the HT shipper?

I opted for double boxing since it's an artisan release and wanted to have a better chance at the box staying pristine during travel
