Grabbed a spare Hot Toys AWE hat off of Ebay. Hope I can get it to fit even I have to heat and dremel it down a bit.

So I take it the AWE hat is the best one then?

I like the way it looks compared to DX06 and 15, although the DX06 doesn't look bad either. Would have went with that if I didn't find an AWE version.

I think the AWE is the best sculpted hat available for sure. Some say it’s too big compared to the real hat when scaled, but I think it looks good on the figure(s).

Well I am really happy with how the artisan has come out, the dreadlocks look awesome and really realistic.
They hang very well and I for one am really happy with the scale to the head.
What I am most happy with, and remain in awe of, is all the trinkets, beads, and accessories woven into the dreads, for me these details are what make this release the best Artisan option to date, you get more than just rooted hair for your money, you get a whole wealth of details and costuming that you would otherwise miss out on with the sculpted.
Super happy with what I am seeing and am awaiting its arrival with much excitement!!

It's not really important but a neat detail I've noticed is that the coins inside the chest are modelled after the cursed Aztec gold coins from the first film. So in a way you get something from CotBP.

I was hoping they would do that, love the Aztec gold design and I love that it makes the gold/chest more specific to the Franchise.

With Hologram taking the last available MMS42 AWE hat on eBay, I think I’ll just go for the DX06 hat. There’s a handful of those currently available.

At some point in time I purchased what I think was a DX06 hat. It kinda has that papery-fabric-supoosed-to-be leather feeling right? I have no idea where it is at the moment though lol.

If it Is they made it worse by swishing it down more then it should be.

Another improvement i noticed on the Blogger photos is that his eyes are more brown now instead of just black wich the dx15 had. Also the expression looks more natural and calm while the dx15 looked almost shocked.
Glad i didnt sell that monkey though he's going up there with the new Jack

So do we know if the DX15 hairpiece can be used for these faces? Prefer both the new faces and was hoping I could use it for a coatless DX15.

The AE looks clearly more realistic with more details... there's literally missing trinkets in the standard hair. The hair also falls better and doesn't flare out like the plastic one.
