I think it was @Wor-Gar who might've said that the DX15 serious face captures a younger Depp to which I would agree. the new DX37/Artisan I feel is appropriate for his older look.

Even if I were to convince myself it’s an older Depp (which it’s supposed to be), it just won’t click.

The new Artisan/DX isn't good lol. Comments like yours only confirm what I’ve been seeing in the last few weeks. There’s just something off about the new one no matter how much I try to like it. If I had the DX15, I wouldn’t have gone for this new one. The DX15 is outdated in terms of the paint apps, but it’s a much stronger likeness to a younger Depp, and that’s what I want (ideally), cause I don’t want DMTNT Jack….

I’ve come to the conclusion I like everything about the new one but the face sculpt, hat and unpainted palm glove hands…

New DX38 + DX15 neutral face plate + DX06 hat + DX15 hands seems the way to go for me…

This just looks better.

I'll admit, I much prefer the smiling sculpt on the Artisan... and I preferred the serious sculpt on the DX15... which is how I will display BOTH!

Sure they’re more detailed and higher quality, but not a fan of the aged likeness that doesn’t really register as Depp as the character to me like the DX15 does. If that makes sense.

I've also struggled to see the likeness on the neutral sculpt ever since the figure was announced, but I never planned on using it anyway. I bought the figure knowing I would only ever display it with the smiling sculpt, because it's the best Depp sculpt they've done to date and the one that captures Jack the most. So it's funny seeing so many people discussing and comparing the neutral sculpts from DX37-39 and DX15, when the superior sculpt (imho) is right there!

It’s a shame cause I planned to use the neutral sculpt 99.8% of the time.
