I didn't realize the Sideshow markup was that high. Budget Stark says in his video that the deluxe is only HK$1500; so less than $200! That seems like a perfectly reasonable price for this figure. No wonder these tend to sell out before release in Hong Kong.

As great as the likeness is, I'm really wishing they went for the slightly warmer expression of the Sideshow PF that captures her personality a bit better, instead of making her so completely stone-faced like usual. In fact I think it might be one of the few times Sideshow has HT beat.

:goodpost:

The Sideshow paint-app still suffers but they win in the expression department. I feel like a simple slight smirk wouldn't have been inappropriate. She is supposed to be a troublemaker after all. I'm gonna try the coupon coming with Resistance Rey to bring the Deluxe price down. Wanted this one since the first trailer.

Some people in the thread already stated they don't want/need the extra stuff in the Deluxe version and prefer the regular version regardless, so it seems like HT got it right on this one.

Preordered the deluxe version at Sideshow with a $20 coupon. All the accessories and swappable outfit parts are going to give this figure a whole lot of posing options.

Waiting for K-2SO and Cassian now.

This figure is really beautifully made.. Have no complaints about it at all. Itll look nice on the shelf.Wish it was available right now :) good one hottoys!

You're really harping on this aren't you? Just don't buy it if you're not happy with your options.

Never planned on buying. My comments are for the "change in the wind" I'm feeling HT is bringing us in the future. I have HT figures that came with accessories I never used (T-1000 bike look, Tech Noir tools, second head, open forearm, etc) but am happy that they were included with the figure. I'm not a fan dividing accessories and calling it a DELUXE. This has not happened before.

Oh go on, say it: Let's just call it the Lesser Version.

Or the Economy Pack perhaps?

We are led to think we are getting more with the deluxe. Truth is the Deluxe is the Regular release as it contains all the accessories this character used wearing this gear. Regular release should be labeled "Basic".

I don't think it's necessarily a bad change. There simply are two options. One with less accessories for a lower price and the same release with some extra accessories for slightly more. The fact that it's optional is nice in my opinion. Rather than just forcing people who want the character to pay the higher price there's now an option to still get the character for a bit less.

$250 for the exclusive plus a NRD

For a Jul-Aug 2017 release

Thanks SSC :pfft:

It's not an exclusive, just a deluxe version. It is available at other retailers, like BBTS with no NRD.

She looks great. If I only get one R1 figure it will be Jyn. Threw a couple safety orders in at BBTS for both versions but will decide once I see the movie.

I like the idea of standard and deluxe sets. Wouldn't have minded it with Rey/BB8. I will never use the scavenger gear as she wore it in the movie for like 30 seconds. I think she was in the resistance outfit longer.
