That pic is a reminder that 40 years ago, Star Wars was nominated for 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Director and Screenplay (and this is back when there were only FIVE nominees for Best Picture).:horror

Quite an achievement if you really think about the kind of movie it is.

Yep. And while it might not be the "Best" it's cultural impact reigns supreme. Annie Hall is a mere footnote in comparison.

Similarly I think that RO Tarkin will endure far beyond the beautifully rendered animals of The Jungle Book.

At least Annie Hall and The Jungle Book were worthy opponents though. Nothing will top the Imperial March losing to the score from Fame.

Wow.. and Disco was passe by 1980 too. Hmmm... My world has been turned upside down.

God help me for dragging this thread further down the hole, but was Fame considered Disco? And thanks a lot for that damned song rattling around in my head for the rest of the day. "I'm gonna live forever....". Cripes...

Felicity is coming to Celebration this year and she wants $450 for an autograph and photo op. I would love a picture with her, but that's a lot of money.

This is one of the reasons I don't collect autographs.

What really gets me is that she costs way more than anyone else appearing so far. I was hoping Daisey Ridley would also attend, but who knows how much she would cost.

But she's the only fairly major celebrity doing autographs - she's Oscar nominated and the lead of a new SW movie. The rest in terms of autographs is just the normal SW show crowd, the best being major cameos of SW - Ian Mcdiarmid, Ray Park etc. - who are pretty common guests.

She's got to make her money now while people still remember Rogue One, before it's buried by Episodes VIII, IX, Han film, Yoda film, Boba film, Obi-Wan film, Jar Jar film, Ice Cream Maker Man from Cloud City film...

Before she knows it she'll have to go back to being a chalet girl to make ends meet...

Yeah, I get that, I just figured Disney probably paid her pretty well to be there and that would help lower the autograph price. I guess I'm just jaded since I just went to AVN and all the girls I met signed photos and took pictures with me for free.

Wow. I paid $75 for a photo with Carrie Fisher at Indy ComicCon a couple of years ago. That seemed very reasonable and she was Princess freakin' Leia!!!
