HT is going to be a victim of setting it's own bar high: When you get sculpts like the Yondu one, this falls short.

When you see a likeness so good it's creepy, then that's the new standard.

Yondu is also a prototype so lets not count our chickens yet. A better comparison would be Harley Quinn which is one of Hot Toys best production heads period.

With both Yondu and Harley, there's a heavy amount of makeup on the actor which I think makes the likeness of the figure a bit easier to achieve. I think the paint applications for human actors is where most sculpts go from great to just good.

True. Getting that skin colour right must be very difficult. To be honest I have no idea how they achieve it. Layers on layers I guess.

But makes you realise how many things we are taking in with our eyes to judge if something is off or not.

You forgot Civil War Black Widow.

Spot-on, and only normal woman's makeup.

Well I mean I expected the proto sculpt or something closer to it. Something has changed here. I might buy this later down the road with a coupon or something. I don't think it's going anywhere.

I don't disagree with you guys, the proto sculpt was my preference, and the final version seems a tad off.

In hand, I think we'll be happy with what we get. I don't think it's going to be like Tatooine Luke where you look at it and you just know something is wrong. Photography is weird. Lighting, angles, perspective, depth...it can all alter how you see the image being captured. Video captures things a little more at face value. When you look at the videos posted of the early unboxing, I really don't see a figure that I'll be unhappy with it because it's just wrong.

It's not the Doctor Strange/Yondu/Princess Leia/Bucky Barnes that's nothing short of an exact likeness. It's also not Luke/Han, where you wonder what the hell happened. Ultimately, this is akin to Hawkeye/Rey. You can nitpick about certain aspects of the sculpt, but you know who you're looking at.

Just my two cents. I see overreactions, but I guess I'll see for myself in a few weeks when Jyn gets here.

Yeah, I still see a high-quality figure with so many display options that I would be happy with if I still had a Rogue One display. The deluxe is still tempting, have it on order, but as I've sold off the rest of my RO figures, I probably needed it to stay like the proto sculpt to really consider keeping my order. Still haven't cancelled yet though so who knows. This and K2 are looking like a great combo.

What I am afraid of is after such a looooooong wait Ripley will turn out to be the same as this…….generic girl!!

This figure goes in HT “Hall of Generic” line along with Bruce Banner, Ichobod Crane and John Matrix!!

The overly dark hair works if you want to display her wearing the Eadu poncho (since it was wet in the movie) but not as good for Jedha and Scarif looks. It's annoying how often HT darkens hair color for no reason.

You guys are reacting to all of this based on that crappy quality youtube vid? ah, ok.....

And the 100 facebook photos. I don't ever watch any of the videos for the most part. I know some folks see something totally different in photos compared with in videos or in hand, but usually I see pretty much the same thing. Crappy quality photos look similar to crappy video, good photos look similar to good quality video and are obviously closer to what you can expect in hand. Only exceptions are with a figure with a headsculpt like Chewie where so much of it is about the futzing.

Same here. I've yet to see a sculpt that I thought was off in early release pictures or videos and then have my mind changed later on. Good sculpts always continue to look good, and bad sculpts always continue to look bad. So I always get a kick out of people who chime in that it's way too early to judge the likeness of a sculpt.

But anyway, damn if this figure doesn't look amazing otherwise. Such a shame.

I never go by FB blogger pics..the lighting is always too subtle and makes the sculpt look worse than in hand.

I think this Jyn is going to be one of those beautifully designed deluxe figures from HT in hand.

I want to see her next to the Rey. See if she is the same size or shorter

Technically Felicity is only 5"3
