Think it looks dreadful, personally. Would have thought this was a better fit. Yeah it's a flat expression but works better than a face like his got an unwelcome erection. Appreciate the attempt to try something different but that ain't it. The likeness is there though, great sculpt, terrible expression.

His whole vibe in the flashbacks. looks relaxed as fighting droids is easy for him. Looks like he’s having fun.

I don't think I have a use for an Anakin with this facial expression so will stick with version one. I tend to prefer more neutral facial sculpts as I find they give me far more display options.

I'm more interested in the hologram table honestly lol.

I have the TCW Anakin, and that works for me. I would love to be able to have the hair from this version and slap on the face sculpt of the TCW version though.

Well, it was already a mission to sell off the old CW Anakin and now it’s become completely obsolete and worthless.

I do like the expression. It doesn’t work at all in any sort of dynamic pose but adds a great deal of character to what would otherwise be a more boring neutral stance.
Just build your pose around the expression and it’ll look great.

I’m not buying because I’ve abandoned the live action CW interpretation line (unless Ventress ever happens) but it certainly feels like we’re gearing up for Dark Side Ani, which I’ll struggle to resist.

HT may want to wait until the Artisan has released before announcing that though as they could risk cancellations.

Not sure I need the whole figure as I have the current CW version, but definitely wouldn't mind picking the head up loose. Another instance where HT would probably make more money offering the head solo along with the full figure. Nice to see a different expression although it's not going to look great in a battle pose.

I get that they didn't want to make him look sinister or evil in the stage of his life that they are trying to represent, but HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO CRY! (or apologize for something). I think they needed to dial back the softness and puppy eyes a few notches.

I mean, he doesn't have to have Vader's heart at this place in the timeline, but it's still The Clone WARS not The Clone APOLOGIES! He still has to look like a General who could kick some battle droid butt and a Dark Side user or two...

Would have been nice to have an alternate sculpt for this one, because the work is great, just seems inappropriate for everything he's doing in his life right now, that isn't trying to convince Ahsoka that he was a good man once and that she is therefore not tainted by his teachings and friendship.

I won't be purchasing mainly due to funds and I have a good feeling that we will get a ROTS sculpted hair version as he appeared in the Ahsoka series.
However, if HT toys can deliver this quality with the hair and likeness, we are looking at a stellar release.
but....the expression will make or break it. (as we see here)

He does look like he's ready to bawl now that you pointed it out.

Waiting on Sith too, but am tempted and think he could look good in the right pose. The likeness is fantastic.... Ahsoka has had some of the best sculpts from HT in a while.

Normally, I'm not a fan of Hot Toys' attempts at expressions that aren't neutral or serious. But this one works for me. I think they captured benevolent Anakin perfectly from the Ahsoka show. I applaud Hot Toys for taking the risk.

The more I look at the expression, the more I like it.

The original release has a General Skywalker feel to it but this release is purely Skyguy.

I'm so glad that the push towards moving eyes has also resulted in more split head/neck head sculpts. Should make posing these figures in action poses way easier.

Seems about the usual rollercoaster of reactions. Usual average HT photography.

I can't wait for the positive uptick when the secret base shots come out and all of the sudden the expression is perfect and it looks amazing.

I won't be getting this right away. But DAMN has HT pushed it. Obviously this is proportional to InArt's rise, but it does feel like the "next step" for the Hobby's realism.

Given the amount of CW fans out there - coupled with the fact that HT seems to have greatly reduced the amount of each figure they make - it's doubtful this won't sell. Even She-Hulk is waitlisted. The days of anything sitting around at Sideshow for years and years are over. These aren't Black Series figures at Target we're talking about.
