HT is making both Emperor's and Snoke's guards, so everyone wins.:lol

And the Emperor's Guards DID see some action in ROTJ against Vader (actually filmed,) but they cut the scene.

They aimed their weapons to him. Breath taking action scene indeed :D

If we're talking which characters would I rather have as toys, I'd pick the Emperor's Royal guard. If we're talking about who would I rather have guarding me, I think I'd take these guys in heavy armor with edged weapons over the guys with nothing but capes and sticks who do nothing but get bounced against
a wall by Yoda in episode III and leave a room when asked in episode VI.

LOL...honestly the emperor had force lightning and was able to throw the whole senate at Yoda...he should be guarding them. I think he was like just stand there and look cool.

You ever put on the ERG helmet? It's quite breath taking. Like, can't breathe. Pointing at Vader is probably all I could do while wearing it before passing out.

I don't like putting it on because I'm always worried I'm going to get my head stuck this time and it'll be an awkward trip to the hardware store to find something to get it off.

HATE the new costume, the cape looks awful!

Also the likeness of the sculpt is not a patch on the never released 1/4 scale!

For me this figure is an easy pass! I am happy with my Force Awakens Kylo.

Like how they prettied up Rey's TFA figure, Hot Toys made this Kylo handsome and symmetrical. Driver's face is crooked and awkward/goofy looking. He also has a lot of freckles. I don't mind the overall design, but IMO they missed the mark on the Driver sculpt.

Kylo wants to be Vader right now but he isn't - that's the point of his character. There's a strong possibility he won't get any more "menacing" than he was in the beginning of TFA because his character arc might not be headed in that direction.

And they got too good of an actor to hide behind a mask for 3 films.

I don't need him to be as "scary" as Vader - he's an interesting character as he is to me.

Yep, he's not supposed to be Vader 2.0. I feel like a lot of people miss the point there lol

I don't see him getting any scarier than he was at the start of TFA, but I do think he was pretty scary there. All of my friends kids were/are scared of TFA Kylo. Neighbor's daughter covered her eyes during the interrogation scenes with Poe & Rey in the forest, and much of the saber battle because she was scared of him

I agree with all of this. I may not love the sequel trilogy as much as the OT, but Kylo is certainly one of the highlights of it and an enjoyable interesting character.

I have the first version, which I actually prefer so probably won't be getting this. In general I thought Kylo was a much better character when he kept his helmet on the look and the voice were nicely intimidating, without the helmet just doesn't cut it for me.

I can't stop laughing. Thank you for this.

I'll stick with this...(The proper scar)

I think people change throughout the years. What better example than the transformation of Mark Hammil throughout the Original Trilogy. I think the head sculpt is spot on and reflects the image of Adam Driver as he looks now, and not how he looked at the moment they filmed TFA.

Does Toy Square charge everything up front? I wanna try them because as a Canadian I get smoked on import fees. Usually an additional $60 CAD charged from FedEx / UPS / DHL.

According to their website, you don't get charged until its shipped or something if you pay by CC, if you pay by PayPal then you got to pay right away.

He is an interesting character for sure but the story NEEDS someone at some point to be menacing. Kylo went from being a scary badass that you DID NOT want Rey to get caught by, to a whiney teenager that Rey took down with a few hours of force exposure.

If Kylo isn't supposed to be a new Darth Vader, then the new trilogy better find some teeth somewhere because right now, there isn't anything scary or worrisome about the New Order or any of it's agents.

I don't know, Kylo still felt plenty dangerous to me as he was killing Han or fighting Rey and Finn in the snow. It's not the same kind of menace we saw with Vader, but the rage and unpredictable nature of Kylo, and not knowing when he might suddenly lash out at someone in anger, still made him feel like a pretty serious threat to me.

And I felt that whether he was wearing the helmet or not.

Again, I felt that in the beginning but not so much by the end. His dangerous, unpredictable rage felt more like a tantrum. I mean, if Rey can already handle him, and now Luke is showing up, why should anyone be afraid of this kid?

And it's not like he killed Han with a scary show of power or skill. It was a powerful moment emotionally but not one that made him seem scary. Just evil.

I thought he was very menacing when he destroyed his dashboard and grabbed that underling by the neck. I liked Kylo just fine as a Vader-wannabe spoiled millennial. Like I said, TFA was likely him at his most evil. Now its Snoke who is the villain. Kylo is going to be a tragic, tortured soul, and therefore less of a threat.

A lot of you guys must be very young to have thought Vader was 'scary'. He was a great villain, and very intimidating, but not scary. Only children think intimidation is scary.

What's the difference between dangerous, unpredictable rage and a tantrum?

Ha yeah, even as a kid Vader never seemed especially scary to me. Not like the xenomorph from Alien or Pennywise or the creature from The Thing.

As for the final Rey-Kylo battle, they made it a HUGE point to show how much damage Chewie's bow-caster could do throughout the movie. And they even had Kylo pounding his wound from the shot (as if he was getting himself pumped up to fight) to remind everyone that, hey, he just got shot by an super powerful weapon. The movie literally could not have been more clear or done a better job setting up the fact that he was fighting with a significant injury at the end.
