[devil's advocate] Where? [/devils advocate]

I'm all for critique and people will always decide what fits and doesn't fit into their budget, but what I'm seeing here is nothing but whining and terribly insulting to the artists and folks making these things available (at any price).

If someone feels bitter because of someone else's work, then it's obvious where the problem lies. :lecture Instead of complaining that someone else's work doesn't fit into your mould, take initiative and either make something yourself, or organize a project to produce what you want and how you want it. All the opportunity in the world is at your feet.

I have no stake in this work and I can understand why the people behind it won't be vocal to defend it against these types of comments, but frankly this is all getting really childish and reeks of entitlement. If that's not what's intended, please take note of how it's being perceived by at least some third parties. Now imagine the people who put the sweat and equity into making this happen.

No offense was meant. I don't need to own this sculpt, just voicing my opinion on the particular business model and only bothered because it was Indy. Quite happy to just wait till something else comes along.

And just for the record: $250 for a sculpt with a quality of paintwork this will have, is a steal. No arguing about it.

I understand, MJ. Most people are OK with the offering because they don't have your ability and the paint job is top-notch, but there are a few artists such as yourself that I'm sure will be frustrated. You're a long-standing member of the community that I respect, and knowing you're a big Indy fan, it bums me out that you'll miss this sculpt. But you're right, patience in this hobby is rewarded more often than not.

Haha! Makes me laugh how people try to justify the cost of these custom heads lol

Yes, I'm familiar with the set (I have over 90% of it) So I will state again for clarity:

I mean people happily shelled out $250 plus shipping for HT Indy which had good boots, pants, pistol, sidebag and body - and not a whole lot else that will stand the test of time.

You needn't have reiterated it, it was clear to me what you were saying the first time. I just don't agree [emoji6]

In looking at that Warrior Gate Indiana head(/s?) it seems those looked like a bullseye then something went very wrong. Looks like the sculpt unravlled when it was painted and it was also a bit too small. Cautiously optimistic for a paint-up of this new sculpt.

:exactly: A custom sculpt plus custom paint for $250? That's pretty damn good value based on what I've seen, brilliant value if it's a spot-on sculpt and a top-notch paint-up. :hi5: Arab garb coat is very nice too.

If only HT had spent time on a decent likeness instead of all this fluff.

$250 for the head is better than $250 for the DX 05. At least everyone will know that it's Indiana Jones on your shelf, instead of Nevada Smith, or whoever that random dude in a leather jacket was that HT released. Here I was thinking they stopped making bootlegs after their George Lucas days.:lol

Not much good having a nice headsculpt on your shelf without a body and clothes:wink1:

I would honestly rather have this painted sculpt on a stand in my display than the entire DX05. :lol

A decapitated indy on your self !:horror

You asked for it . I am just waiting

So is this guy only making an Indy head, and not an alternate version for Han? Seems like there would be a lot of demand for that, especially to replace the head on a certain HT figure coming out...
