I wonder why the asian 1/6 mass market hasnt come up with an indy sculpt ?? Ive seen many of these sculpts that are on par with HT quality. Youd figure someone by now would have realized that so many were unhappy with the HT sculpt...
I think most of the sculpts your referring too are recast of actual Hot Toys sculpts.

They usually only recast sculpts that are in high demand...the DX05 does not fit that bill.

I believe that it has more to do with it being a DX than the merits -or lack of- of the headsculpt. Maybe they're not able to recast so easily heads that include the PERS system, because the Jack Sparrow DX06 or the DX13 (two of the most celebrated Hot Toys sculpts) are not avalaible as recasts.

Why would you recast such a crap sculpt .

It actually might have looked better with a bootlegger's paint apps and a slightly warped recasting.:lol:slap

No, I've seen DX PERS heads bootlegged on eBay. Just not HT Indy.

$250 for a head!? I did read that right, didn't I!? I did! Great! Oh well, if you can afford it then go for it, just don't go lauding it over those that weren't quite that loaded and have used other heads. I'll make do with the SSC head and do what I can with it. I got the feeling that was what I'd have to do all along and I'm right.

We'll see what emerges......

No one is lauding it.

.....yet. When others post bashes that use the SSC or HT head there are bound to be be one or two that say "Why that head!? Why not the MJ!?".

When I posted my first Indy there was a near riot when I didn't use the Hero Heads sculpt which was the 'head du jour' of the day.

If HT had done a good job on the sculpt, this would of been one of their ultimate figures.

Looking at their Han Solo. it makes me wonder if they have ever seen pictures of Harrison Ford or just been told what he looks like. :dunno

For some reason Harrison Fords likeness seems hard to recreate.

I'm sorry, but this reads like a tantrum. I've never seen people giving other members crap for using one part over another in this thread. Do you see people asking why some still use the HT outfit when katos exists?

Though I could probably afford it, $250 is more than I'd want to spend on just a head as well. But if people want to show theirs off I'll have no problem with that.

And I suspect those people will already be aware that they've paid something that not everyone else is going to be able to.

Meh, I don't see this happening. People have been using all kinds of sculpts throughout this thread and I've never seen anyone giving crap to others for the one they used.

Mmm, ok, now I'm over the price a bit, perhaps the rest won't happen. I just wish it didn't always cost people the earth to get what they want. Having a great figure is one thing, but, that constant niggle at the back of your mind over what it cost you is another and is part of why I stopped going after high end 1/6.

Despite the lacklustre head sculpt, this is very much one of Hot Toys' ultimate figure releases. :lecture DX07's head sculpt is nothing to write home about in terms of likeness either, and it joins this in HT's ultimate list too.

I'd say most of their Marvel line will prove to be way more popular. The hat and revolver are the only two parts from the DX that I would ever consider.

Sure, that's likely. But for me, HT's Marvel line might as well not even exist. Apart from a couple of the Black Widow figures, everything else just doesn't capture my attention at all. And certainly none are as epic as the DX releases I just mentioned - I'd add DX12 Batman to that list too, but IMO, it sits below DX05 Indy and DX07 Bespin Luke Skywalker, however the Armory set with Alfred (with or without BW) gets up there.
