Still got a lot to finish, don't know when I'll get around to doing the rest of it, but it will be done someday

Wow,thats amazing! I cant wait to see the rest of it.

But wasn't there a flat wall section behind the pilot's console where some lockers went? Or was that just on the TV show version?

Yes, that's the TV version, they ended up keeping those lockers between the show and the movie, one is there on the other side of the bridge with wires and stuff, then two of them are inside the door passageway between the bridge and the hallway, and they don't have the fourth one there anymore

Wow, before seeing this model I never realized how big a difference there was between the show and tv show set. One big change I just noticed from your model is that the shape of the room itself is vastly different. I saw that behind the pilot's seat on the tv show the wall is flat and squares off, creating alot more room; where in the movie it has that angled wall cutting out the corner.

Personally I prefer the tv show version becuase it has more of a "home-ey" feel to it (especially in the cargo bay) but the movie version is definatly a beautiful work of art, as your model demonstrates. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle the cargo bay and galley.

I kinda like the design of the TV version too--the stuff in there seems more modular, like the equipment is something that they could use in a variety of different spaceships, where in the movie version they were very specifically designed for that type of ship. But the reason I chose to do the movie version is that it's more accurate to actually fitting inside the computer model than the TV version--especially the front windows, which are almost horizontal on the TV version and while they aren't completely correct on the movie version, they are pretty close

Excellent news OG and 202. I got Mal's head in today from Trevor, so all I need is that body so I can make sure the head tone is right on.

It's kinda cool to hold the head that I know one day will be admired atop an amazing figure by Nathan Fillion himself.:monkey2

SS, I assume that since the gloves, sculpt and body are headed your way, you will be the one putting this combined effort together. The figure could not be in better hands. I'll send the body as soon as it arrives. I'll need your address so I can get the figure to you.

Old Grandpa

Yes, it seems I will be the first to see Mal finished, but I will take and post pics of course. Then it will go to Trevor who will get it to Adam who will get to Fillion.

PM to OG with my address. Thanks OG.

Are we gonna put all of the helpers names on the base or something? it would be kinda nice just to let him know the crew that did this for him.

Yo cadaver. I don't think names like cadaver, Old Grandpa, MarfMaster, Trevolver, and SilentSurfer will mean much to Nathan Fillion. It's one of those things that we each know what we did and enjoy the fact that we were involved and had a hand in making it all possible.

We should at least put a card together

:lol:rotfl:lol Awesome reply.

Yes, the original plan was not to have names of participants, but I've been pondering the idea of doing a writeup on behalf of the fans here that will include the names of all those involved and what they did. If I were him, I'd like to know who did me such an honor. And knowing how nice Fillion is, he may actually want to thank us in some way.

Or that could all be in my head, and he's really an a-hole Hollywood star.

Well I am good either way. just throwing the idea out there.

I have heard he is an amazingly nice guy. What do you expect? He's Canadian. :wink1: (I actually live 3 hours from his hometown)

This is an awsome project and a great idea. Id love to contribute something to this, so if there is anything at all I can donate just let me know.

Including a card makes perfect sense, of course. I'm more of the mind of Old Grandpa...The joy for me is just knowing I was part of it, I don't need anything more than that. I do think that Fillion would want to know who made the figure, since it's shaping up to be quite awesome.

If we do a card, I'd rather it be a all encompassing and lead him here in some way, so he can see all the work everyone's done. Wouldn't it be fun if more of the crew saw their miniature selves? The thread is a bit dense right now, so maybe we should make a "showcase" thread showing everyone's finished pieces in a nice concise post.

just some ideas,
Trev

Wonderful idea! :clap

I was thinking the same thing, Trev. How awesome would it be if Fillion created an account, even if he only used it once to post a thank you?
