I have no regret buying V1 Bossk exclusive, mostly because at $150 he was a good value. With this new version being $60 more, I wouldn't get this new one anyways. These $200+ price tags for figures is making me cut way back on purchases. Right now the only figure I'm thinking of getting that's out now or been previewed is the HT Snowtrooper commander to go with my SS regular.

V.1 Bossk was $160 and the new Bossk comes with free shipping (I guess a $15-20 value these days to most US locations) so it's probably closer to a $30 difference, but I hear ya. I despise the prices Sideshow now charges, for figures that are often inaccurate or poorly executed and therefore easily trumped by a new figure (look at SSC DX Vader helmet, SSC Biker Scout helmet, Hoth fig and Luke X headsculpts etc.) People on here constantly try to defend it, but for prices to pretty much quadruple in ten years is $#@%^&! outrageous and openly hostile/insulting to longtime customers.

There really should be a customer loyalty program that sets you up to only pay $150 per figure or the price they started at when you entered the hobby! I'd be paying about $100 per figure. I'm sure some of you guys would only be paying $50!

I wasn't aware that companies unilaterally priced items. It's not a matter of defending it. It's just recognizing reality and choosing to buy or not. The alternative is flaccid indignation (usually coupled with garden variety nerd snobbery).

If anyone's interested, I have an exclusive version up for grabs on ebay at the moment.

I don't think it is just inflation with these figures though. The quality and detail has greatly improved over the years. Not trying to justify the prices, but some of it. I do think they are still a bit too much.

Don't get how these re-releases of like Bossk and IG-88 shoot up about 70-80 dollars from their original retail. Makes me feel cheated on.

That's because you're getting less and also waiting over a year to actually receive the re-released figure So it makes sense they would cost more.

Jokes aside. That's economy. You can't expect prices to be the same as 5 years ago. Everything goes up. More likely with successful company like HT. High deman, high prices.

Well, to be honest, it seems like it's Sideshow's markup on the Hot Toys figures. They're stilling selling at around the same price in Hong Kong.
