Back to my drink

is this the official production piece ? If not, it means nothing.

It's a talent only few posses.

The doily would add to it for sure.

As far as the flash photography comment. I'm not sure how to take it. Is that supposed to be a slam at me? I know my shots aren't the best ever. I'm just saying that I wasn't taken back by the one you took.

A comment no more intentionally derogative than your comments on my shots friend :) (I didn't pull up any of your shots, so I don't know how you light them)

At any rate... :)

See? This figure rocks!!!!

I disagree. I think they make it look very shiny and don't do the figure the the justice it will recieve once we all see it in hand. Dave usually does a SUPER job just not this time IMO. I hope its not being taken personally. RS does a great job getting all the latest SW news but they've got a lot of contacts which helps.

odd. I thought these were the best SSC images I've done in a while. As for the RS contact comment, it's not like we woke up one morning and said "hey, lets have great contacts"... It took many years of full time hard work to get the contacts we have. I dunno if you've ever met any of us in person, but we're a bunch of Star Wars fans that work on a platform that provides information to who ever wants it. No one has handed us golden tickets here...

Nice looking place you got there... I'm sure purchased/leased on the pain and suffering SW fans :lol

There is no doubt to that ;)

Actually, don't forget I live in Vancouver and what I've paid for my mortgage on a 1000 sq foot apartment could buy me a very nice new house in most States. ugh.

And you have to pay extra shipping and what-not on figures. Ahhh, we may have a ********* for a President... but at least the shipping costs are lower :lol:monkey2

My comment was not shot at you in any way. Just that I didn't like the shots. You took it personally that I was calling you out. I have no real clue why but I have some guesses.

I was simply saying I didn't think you showed the figure very well. Sorry that pissed you off Dave. If you don't want people saying they don't like them don't post them. Would think you'd know that better most.

I'd disagree. I thought your last few where better. I've not met you in person though we've seen each other at a couple of the last SDCC. I met the "fan club" president a couple years ago. As far as having great contacts I'm sure you've worked at it the sites been around for 10+ years now. Again, all I was saying when you guys get stuff up first it never surprises me. That's all.

OT

Are we SURE that Jor-El figure is a production piece? Doesn't much resemble the website pic if you ask me. That pic posted earlier was breath-taking:

I'd be inclined to say it is production. Just the fact that it seems like someone shot it in their house from the lighting says it for me.

Hey josh, I'm not upset or offended in any way. I'm only joking around... If you feel otherwise, I apologize.

If we need to clear the air, lets take it to PMs and get back to talking about toys.

I couldn't agree more Dave...the gallery you created for Obi-Wan is excellent...the inspired poses, the lighting, the whole thing. I can't wait to see this knockout figure "in person". Your shots only fuel the anticipation more...

As a long-time viewer of RS, I've always enjoyed your galleries of these Sideshow figures...met some of the folks who work that site at different cons over the years (nice folks)...it was a treat to see these up before he hits our door steps...thanks!

Its all good in da hood Dave. :)

I was privileged enough to get my copy of Obi-Wan this evening. I've had so much fun with this , I can hardly believe it! I'm really very very impressed with the quality of the figure and how well it translated. What an ABSOLUTE honor it is to be a part of this.

although my photos really pale in comparison to Dave's rebelscum shots, I did have some fun here at my desk taking a few shots. enjoy! (not much in the way of variety, I'm afraid, but I think you'll like the last shot)

Looks better in those first few shots Trev. Depending on how the light catches it something just look not right. Overall, it looks like it kicks butt.

nice shots trev! i really like the paint apps -- nice how the little details of the sculpt are not lost -- looks like it has a paint job up there with CSM (my personal high water mark, in terms of paint anyway). really like the hand too -- adds a lot of personality. can't wait to get this guy!!
