I have worked on toy commercials for years, and there are many good tricks out there, not to mention fantastic supply stores here in Vancouver. There's one type of tape that might work, assuming the adhesive side is light coloured enough, that could give the gown the proper 'flow'. Thing is, it would be the end of the outfit, so I'll wait until my regular edition Leia shows up.

Hope Dave is talking about the same but I was meaning ANH Leia. Wanted to use top stick to gather some of the dress in the back and put folds in the front.

I'm referring to ANH in this case. Top Stick is the wrong option for the desired effect.

Rarely do I ever say that, but I love this figure.

I've had, and repainted every Hasbro 12" Ben and model etc., I can think of, but THIS IS HIM! FINALLY!
I can't stop looking at him. I am even scared to repaint him. I know I will, but after my initial euphoria has worn off, and I have accepted that I can add to him. For now, he resides, pensive, holding his unlit lightsaber, waiting for the duel to come....

Since you guys are talking water treatment, let me inquire again about adding laundry starch to the water. Wouldn't that improve the result in one way or an other? Keeping a cape in a certain dynamic or dramatic position for instance. Or is it simply superfluous? Oh, and "top stick"... = some kind of tape?

Water treatment on the right fabrics (which is most that I have tried) holds its shape pretty well WITHOUT the starch. I would never put starch on my figs.

Top Stick is a toupee tape. It is also used in the theater to to keep mustaches and wigs from falling off.

Got my Ben today and I must say, he's amazing. Replaced my POTF2 Hasbro Ben with him and now I have the perfect Luke training droid scene. The Hasbro Trilogy Edition Tatooine 12" Luke works perfectly with this Obi-Wan ... as long as you have the blaster shielded helmet to cover up that hideous facial sculpt ... . Once we get Smuggler Han, I believe I will add in the Hasbro R2 and 3PO with the Dejarik set and have a kick-a$$ diorama. Just give us a Chewie now.

I got my "pre-authorization" notice e-mail today, so hopefully I'll get my "Old Ben" sometime next week. I really adored and respected Alec Guiness as Ben. I can't wait to get this great looking figure!

Wow, that's a great shelf you have going there! All the right pieces... great idea!

Until Sideshow makes a Chewbacca (and I think it'll be quite a while), I have my Bespin Han Solo hanging out with the Kotobukiya Chewbacca, which is a very excellent statue/model kit/whatever!

The thing that amazes me as I look at Ben is how "flesh" like they managed to get his face. It has that proper amount of semi-wetness to it that brings out the sculpt and makes it look "real" for lack of a better description. Looking back at Sideshow's other great sculpts - Jedi Luke, Boussh, etc., none of them have this detailing to the face. I hope this is a permanent aspect too.

Something SS should have been doing awhile ago.But I think they had no choice with ANH Obi wan,they could'nt have pulled it off without adding all those detailed rinkles in his face.I think everyone including me are freaking out over how great this figure looks because they were giving us plain old crackers for the past 2 years,then all of a sudden they give us a Ritz cracker and it's like "oh god damn that's awesome a$$ cracker yum..yum...yummy...yum..yum"

I really am shocked at how great this figure is and hope SS is taking us in this direction with the rest of the 12" line.
