tried twice through online chat on ss to pay snake off. dont know what the problem is with them today, they just wont take my money!?!?!?! its stupid to wait imo if i only have $60 left to pay. i need something new on the shelf thats not mgs, all i have other than that are 3a atlas and pbody.

check that... i originally said it looked like a neca figure...

now after more of these pics, i'm seeing it more in line with mezco... $50-$80 figures. totally worth it at that price as overall doesn't look like a total trainwreck... but at the same time it's no where near $160! this will be a def pick up when it gets reduced down in the sub $100 range (which i'm 100% confident will happen after seeing how cheap this turned out)

Here is some photos I took of him in natural light next to the window. As you can see, I do not hate him, but I am not ecstatic about him. I also hope Sideshow replies to my inquiry about his arm being stuck.

Thanks for the pics! Yep. It seems to me the problem, as others are stating, is the lack of expression. Snake is never without some degree of distain or disgust on his face, so having a static expression really takes allot of his personality out of the sculpt. I think that is where the problem is. That's why it reads better in shadow, because the manipulated light offers a look of expression that isn't as blank as it is with front lighting.

Next to Bane last night just to see

Snake looks ok in this pic.

You actually make him look good in these pics.

That's a nice Vincent D'Onofrio as Bane sculpt :lecture

I got mine about an hour ago and couldn't be more pleased with it. Looks great next to my HT battle damaged Terminator T-800. No problems with the boots or accessories. I am happy enough with it that I just placed my order for the ToD Indiana Jones.

@marker2037 thank you!

So guys , be careful playing with Plissken ( I know phrasing ). His revolver is easy to brake. You can also easily lose the bullets...

Also none of his hands fit the socket AND ONE HAND ACTUALLY BROKE WHILE TRYING TO POSE WITH HIS GUN.

This figure is so cheap, even those ebay bodies don't do this. I don't even know what to do besides waiting for sideshow's reply uugh

Sorry to hear this:(

The hand broke putting a gun in his hand, that's scary brittle:panic: I have a bunch of the sideshow gi joes and while there not amazing figures they always seemed durable.

Did the wrist peg snap or did a finger break off?

Wrist peg. Also none of the pegs would fit in the arm. I know you could loosen it with a hair dryer as many suggested here. But I didn't think this figure was that fragile.

Not an excuse, but it's pretty common to have to heat up hands to put guns in them or run the risk of breaking them. You shouldn't have to, but it's the same for many figures across all manufacturers. The hands just harden too much to flex enough to be able to put the accessories in them without using enough force that can easily break them (often at the peg too as the stress goes straight to them if the hand is attached to the body or you are holding the hand with the peg).

Are you sure the pegs are actually getting into the arm? The jacket sleeve are too long and too tight to push up the arms properly so there is excessive bunching around the wrists. Perhaps that is blocking the peg going in all the way?

Yeah I make sure the sleeve is not bunching so I know the peg is going in. I guess it's the first time it snapped on me?

Oh well, I took a few photos and I'll just leave him in his box for now. I just regret paying so much for this fig

I'm looking forward to finally getting an R2 soon. Non human figures are all that sideshow is good for but I'm sure they will **** it up too, considering the best current version of r2 is an alarm clock the bar is not that high but if anyone can consistantly fly under bar after bar it's sideshow.

Wow, that sucks. You could try swapping out the body with a Hot Toys one. EVILFACE said that they're a perfect fit for the SSC headsculpts.

Got Snake today... honestly my first impression is good. The sculpt paint is pretty basic, but nothing is glaringly bad about it aside from the eye decal being a bit too detailed, they seem to have tried to replicate the radiating pattern of the iris, but it looks to precise and almost like a little star :lol

Body on mine is good, and while the boots seem to lean a bit forward, I haven't had any issues posing him.

I am curious if anyone knows how everything should fit together on his belt, a few extra pouches and what-not, but not really sure where all of it should go :lol

I would not bank on a body swap, so far the design of the head seems very specific to the Sideshow body. The ball joint is a universal size, but the standard neck's I tried to use were too fit in very awkwardly leaving a large gap between the chin and neck and at least of the muscular bodies I had on hand none really seemed to work all that well.

I'm still hopeful I can find something with a double jointed elbow since I plan on using he jacket, but so far none of the bodies seem like a good fit.

Turns out I did have one that works... the Bruce Banner body works great with the exception of the ankle pegs. I'm really not sure what you would need to make the boots compatible aside from permantly gluing a HT plug into it, or maybe using something to make the HT peg a bit larger like electrical tape. But the head fits that body really well and a pretty close color match.

Yeah, I plan to touch up the paint on mine. It's honestly not terrible. But I think redoing the eye and making the skin tones a bit more varied and adjusting the stubble will help a lot.

Sadly I only took one with the Banner body where he was fully dressed :lol But you can have him smoking now:

Something does look off when you fully remove the shirt, it just doesn't have quite the right proportions to work for a completely shirtless figure IMO, but still a pretty good base body. I think maybe the head sits a bit too high, so w/o the extra layers it looks a bit odd.

And a quick pic using the standard body:

While he's far from perfect, on the shelf he looks really good.
