Yeah, I don't think heat from a blow dryer will damage it in any way. Someone in this thread, said that they loosened up their boots by heating it up, and it seemed to have worked.

Let's hope SSC comes through for you, and you won't have to pay for your replacement or anything, on top of what you already spent... :/ It's times like this, I'm glad I moved out of Canada lol.

Just don't go overboard with the heat, you should be fine. Don't put it on a high setting, you just wanna warm it and lightly put tension on the joint immediately after. Hopefully, it's not a frozen joint.

Thanks man!!

I'll try it tomorrow. I wiggled it and ... It's pretty stuck. I can turn it around but no bend or joint movements. If I wasn't so tired of upload a youtube video and just show my most disapointed look ever.

I will never buy a figure from this company man.

Yeah I'll try it. It that does work I hope they send me a body since they apparently don't refund shipping back to them. I might as well BUY a new body :/

Well in case anyone was wondering these are definitely in stock despite the site saying its a pre-order, I ordered the Exclusive over the weekend and it shipped today:yess:

Looking forward to checking this one out, I'm hopeful I will like it once in hand:panic:

Do you guys think using a hair dryer well help me straighten the boots? They both lean so bad he slides around on the stand.
Are they boot feet or soft plastic boots over actual feet?
If they're the later, then heat them with a hairdryer until a little soft (don't go too far) and pliable then mold them into shape (take the flaw out of them) hold the boot in that position somehow and freeze the boots to set the soft plastic in the shape you want. Once they thaw out they should hold the new shape.
Just don't heat them too far otherwise the plastic will become hard, much more so than when you got them.
If that doesn't work, contact Sideshow and they should replace them.

If Sideshow sends you a new body, they usually do so without charging you anything for the replacement. You will however be asked to destroy the old body and send pictures back to them once you get the new body. If you don't do this they will charge you for the replacement they sent.

It's not a big problem, I received a Harley Quinn with a busted hip and went through the same process, now my figure is fixed.

I've got to call SS and cancel. Too many other things are out to worry about this character. I'm just trying to decide if I also want to cancel the Chris Reeve Superman PF. I've been going back and forth on it, but I think I'm landing on the side of canceling that one too.

Saw this in person today. I'll just say that, as much as I love the character, I'm glad I got cold feet and cancelled a while ago, and leave it at that.

I've had too many Sideshow related disappointments of late as it is, so I'm glad I avoided paying for yet another one...

They are a rubber boot feet. Honestly, the more I look at it, the more I just want my money back. This figure is not very good.

Got my Snake Pliskin figure today and have had a chance to unbox and have a play. In no particular order, some thoughts on the in hand figure:

1. My boots have the slight lean as well. Mine isn't too bad and he can stand unaided if I futz with his posture.

2. Man are those arm not friendly to use. The range of motion is pretty limited and the ratchet joints are way too stiff. I actually broke the right arm off at the forearm just trying to bend it. Luckly it had just poped out of the joint but that shouldn't happen. If you don't try and bend at the exact right angle it won't bend at all, and if you are off and try too hard (which it needs even if at the right angle), it pops.

3. Poped elbow joint meant I needed to take the jacket off to fix. Man is that jacket tight. It is extremely hard to get back on. I can't pull it up his arms enough it is so tight. I have excess jacket bunched around his wrists. Also not sure how they could say they put weathering on the jacket it's so minor. Luckily when I put him on display I don't plan on it being with the jacket.

4. The accessories are really nice. With the exception of the revolver, they are all painted well and look great. The revolver has a little silver slop around the top of the gun grip. Nothing too bad, but it stands out against the other accessories.

5. My shirt seems better than others I have seen and it has no loose threads around the neck. Feels nice too.

6. Man is this figure un-photogenic. I don't think I've got another figure that photographs as badly. I took a few I won't even bother with. The head sculpt and paint job looks, to me, way better in hand than the photo's. I look at it and think others got a really bad figure. Then I look at my photo's and he's suddenly washed out, pale and waxy looking. I then look at my figure again and think "how the hell are you the same figure as these pictures". Is he perfect, no. But he's not the horror he is made out to be. I only have a few Sideshow human sculpts. He looks better than Echo and Fives. I think he looks better than Wolffe. Rex beats him. He beats Hot Toys '66 Robin. I think I like him more than Hot Toy's Alfred Pennyworth... Not sure on that one yet.

This does sound like the 'Head Play effect'.

It's frustrating because people won't believe you when you report it looks okay! :lol

I get that all the time.
I post a pic where the figure looks fine to my eye, but in the pic, people say the head looks too big, not good enough likeness, etc.
It looks fine in hand, but for some reason the camera is showing something your eye will never see.

:goodpost:

With something like the Head Play Wolverine sculpt the painting and detail is subtle. It's all there, and on the shelf I wouldn't be able to tell it from a Hot Toys.

Then take a picture and it looks like Hasbro made and painted it! :panic:

There's also the issue of size.
Some of the recent HT heads are scaled to true 1/6(It all started with Hulk who was true 1/6, but not in scale with the rest of the Avengers who were all 12" scale), and from about MOS onwards, a lot of the heads are scaled to true 1/6, but used on normal TTM bodies. It means the proportions are a little off and arms are a little short, but that the heads look slightly too big and wide for the body.
It's further not helped by the fact that we all see with two eyes and our brains take those two upside down and back to front images and combine them. So what you see with your eyes isn't total realism. A camera is taking an image from a single aperture and then you see the result with your two eyes and that 2D version of something you can hold in your hand and rotate(Which looks fine when you see it), looks off in the image. A lot of people don't realise this is all going on and say "Head looks too big", "eyes aren't right", etc when they might look good to your eye, but no matter how good the camera is, it will never be able to convey that.

Thought I'd pre-ordered Snake from my SS distributor here in the UK, but having checked my account I obviously didn't get around to it. Not sure if this isn't a blessing in disguise.

Mine isn't scheduled to get here until early February, so I still have time to sort through all of this. Has anyone tried to take pictures of the figure using just the room light and eliminate the flash? We might get a stronger indication of the sculpt if we can eliminate that flash which washes out details and color.

To be honest, I still want the figure, but I won't order it direct from SS and get hammered with delivery + customs + FedEx charges which make the cost of what is a suspect quality figure ridiculous.

Last time I checked Forbidden Planet's website had it for £110, which is surprisingly reasonable considering they should be called Foreboding Pricehike.
