If you think that figure is great, then I imagine you'd be pretty happy with SSC's figure, no matter how it turns out.

I think that's clearly the desire, but this 1/9th scale really nailed his likeness on the head sculpt. Everything I've seen thus far on the 1/6th scale you have to take second looks, examine the lighting versus the sculpt and well... there's some compromises on that one. This eight inch figure rings immediately with Kurt's likeness. So I'm hoping some tweaks were done with these delays to give us a better looking figure.

On the NECA: Yikes. Expect hit and miss paint jobs... oh and the figures don't stand on their own very well. At all. So plan on buying a stand. I was secretly excited when these MEGO-inspired figures came out and was planning on starting my own horror collection but - really disappointing. There's not peg holes in the feet either, so it forces you to purchase those waist-hugging stands (Like the ones pictured). All in all the final execution ends up being a letdown from the awesome concept... :(

I'm keeping my SCC pre-order and fingers crossed.

:lol :lol I had the same thought :lol

These are just two very different kind of collectibles... I actually really like real Megos, but don't care for these retro-style, they feel disingenuous to me :huh

This has definitely become a generational topic. You can pretty much tell who grew up (or aspires to be) in the 70's versus those who grew up with 3 3/4 inch painted plastic figures who desires everything to be retro 80's and 90's.

I must be only person then whose excited for the neca mego style Snake. I think he's looking fantastic.
