I did it! I did it! I got my IG-88's shoulders to turn around, 'round, 'round!

I extended the legs, and at first I thought the left one had a section that was either unpainted or had the paint rub off when I extended it. But then I noticed it seems to look that way on the box art. Does everyone else's look the same?

Mine doesn't look like that. Mine is painted/weathered all the way up when leg extended.

Could you compare and see if you have the legs pulled out as far as mine? The right one pulled all the way out when I first tugged on it. The left one only came out part way, then when I tugged again I got the next section which looked unpainted.

The pics above my first post looks like it's got that silver/gray area as well.

I haven't been following this thread, so forgive the ignorance, but my guy's arms don't fully rotate.

Is this common?

No, mine is extended the same distance as in your pic but it is painted all the way up.

My left leg does have a very tiny scrape on the left leg (our left) where the paint was chipped by extending the leg, but it sort of just looks like weathering.

The good thing is that his paint scheme is sort of patchy/motley metal, so the lack of paint on your leg doesn't scream out at you the way it would on a "clean" character fig.

Thanks for your help. I agree, I don't think it's worth returning. Considering that I know at least one person whose figure is the same as mine, and it looks that way on the box art, it's not a given the new one would be any different anyway.

FedEx just delivered my IG-88, and I only have one word for him: WOW!

The detail is great, as is the articulation.
Sure, some of his arm-joints are a bit too loose so his arm slips down under the weight of that big gun, but all in all its an amazing figure.

two downsides though:
1. a bit more extensive instructionpaper would have been nice. Nowhere does it say where the batteries for the light-up head go. I had to find out from reading a review that you can unscrew the top part of his head.
Same goes for the extension of the legs. It would be nice if they said where they extend.
2. the switch to turn on the lights in the base is places at the wrong place. Do it at the back, nobody will see that either. I sure hope they fix that before they send out this base with Boba Fett.
