Many thanks to GeneralZodLives for picking up one of the 1/12 transparent synths at SDCC for me :blissy

Fantastic variant of an already great figure, photos don't do it justice. Surprised nobody else has mentioned the tiny tampographs of highly-stylised kanji at the joints.

Head: 偽装個体 (gisou kotai, "camouflage specimen")
Joints: best guess 所電 (sho den, "electrified area")

I would have liked the 1/6 to have had a clear face like the 1/12.

For some strange reason the eyes on the 1/12 human head are painted a flat grey. The whole eyeball. The ones in the skull faceplate are transparent with red pupils. While I agree the head on the 1/6 looks less interesting, at least you get red eyes.

Kind of tempted to swap the eyeballs around on the 1/12 if it's possible, as I don't normally display them with the skull faces.

i think you spelled the 2nd one wrong. looks different from picture.

Google translate tells me it's "防電" (Anti-power).

A closer tranlastion would be surge protection or anti-shock. It's very hard to tell what the characters are actually meant to be because they've been radically altered from their traditional forms, mostly through an omission of strokes.

In your opinion, is it worth it to pick up a KO and try to tighten the joints?
Or are the other issues with the KOs (brittle plastic, snapping joints, etc.) not worth it?

From images I've seen, KO at the very least look** decent

here are a few issues with the KO:

1.Face mask doesn't fit fully into the pegs.

2.Wrist/Lower tight joints are extremely tight. Broke a wrist peg just trying to turn it. they use unique joint and is snapped into the arm so you have to pry the part open to remove the broken joint, or do some mods to fit normal peg.

3.Upper Arm/Upper Thigh Joints can be abit loose, it can stand properly but doing action pases may be tricky without a stand.

4.Head part is glued so you can't turn the eyes.

5.Open Hands some fingers seems chopped off & glued back.

6.Minor paint QC

IMO for $38 shipped it's OK. but the packing is horrible both boxes suffered dents (1 heavily dented).

hi, i played around with it, that area that broke off is pretty tight, i wonder why did you add Pledge to that joint? when i turn it, seems that part wants to separate out as it's only snapped together, so you can try to pry from the broken joint area, any scuffs won't be noticeable from outside.

anyway how did you tighten the ball joint on the upper thighs? 1 of the upper arm is also abit loose, how do you add pledge on it?

also anyway to remove the broken wrist peg? i think it uses unique type of joint.

You got a picture of the broken peg?

Gorgeous! You'd recommend it? I backed the Kickstarter but totally forgot about the website sale when the campaign failed.

If you're a fan of the Izmojuki style, I do recommend it, it's a fantastic realization of the design. Production quality is right up there with the Synthetic Human releases.

I got my China version came today. Wow, shipped on Monday and got it on Friday. OK that is the good thing. Here is the bad thing.
This figure is no where near the quality of the real thing. It is a flabby mess. The hip joints are super loose. If I can fix the loose hips, it might not be too bad for $56 shipped.

Is the quality of the skull face any good, hard to see from the photos?. I had to sell my old Synthetic but besides from being floppy, how bad is the plastic in comparison too?

Thanks

I used floor polish to tighten the hips, it got too tight and when I try to move it it snapped. SO the plastic is weaker for sure. I ended up got a hip replacement.

Thanks do you mind commenting on the skull face?. To be honest I be using it as a mannequin to pose stuff.

Not much of a difference with the face skull from the real. You just can't adjust the eye balls since the head is glue tight.
