Darth Loki said:Yeah, we should get all the main characters first so we have no major announcements to look forward to as this line moves forward
Agent23 said:To call Faramir a "worthless" character is laughable in my opinion. Sure, he's not Gandalf, Aragorn, or Frodo. But, he is still a pretty significant character.
wofford29 said:So by the same logic we should get a worthless character to keep our interest in the line, before we get to the ones that matter
Faramir is one of the best characters in LOTR. I think he will give us time to get us tided over until the hobbits and Gimli can be released.wofford29 said:Personally I don't care for Faramir and I'm dissappointed he's being made into a figure before someone more important like Gandalf.
wofford29 said:To each his own. I think he could have been taken out of the movies completely and wouldn't have been missed in the storyline. I think Faramir said it best himself when he asked...
"You wish now that our places had been exchanged. That I had died and Boromir had lived.
LOTRFan said:You have a point (though perhaps not a fully justified one) considering the films, but NOT the books; not by a long shot.
Anyway, they DID suggest that the next figure would not be a member of the Fellowship. But a Nazgul would have been great to go with Aragorn.
Agent23 said:Yea, sure he was worthless. Yea, Ok. And, Gollum was also right because he didn't swing a sword or wave a staff.
And, oh yea...You ever heard of the "House of Healing"?
Wetanut said:Hmmmm.....worthless character. So you might think that all those countless (almost) nameless orcs are more integral to the major story...in either book or movie?
Puh-leeeze.

I think wofford is being unjustly pounced on, he was referring to the films, and yes I agree that the character was underdeveloped in parts; esp considering his character in the books. The greatest example would be his refusal of the ring in the books.
