For a non-Fellowship figure, I'm glad it was Faramir.

I just hope he's the opening to a floodgate of more LOTR 12" figures!

(Oh, and Sideshow, let's make the next "6" figures part of the Fellowship, will ya?...) ;)

By the way, that obvious work-in-progress sculpt teaser looks brilliant. :rock

I know Rumi too, go figure! :lol

I think wofford is being unjustly pounced on, he was referring to the films, and yes I agree that the character was underdeveloped in parts; esp considering his character in the books. The greatest example would be his refusal of the ring in the books.

Well, I don't think Wofford is. His character underdeveloped or not was still as intergral. As far as the ring thing I'm cool with that change. For the generic movie audience you can't have a main character turning down the most powerful object flat out. Most common movie goers wouldn't understand.

So what do we think the outfit will be, ranger or armor? I hope for Ranger that way he can come with tons of accessories along with (as was stated before) Boromirs cloven horn.

I don't want to distract this thread, but how can an underdeveloped character be integral?!

His role is still very important. Without him the story would fall flat and fall apart to a degree. No they didnt delve into him as much as they do in the book but they give you enough to appreciate Faramir.

I guess he could do important stuff in a short amount of time:confused:

In what specific way? You've done nothing but speak in broad strokes and generalizations.

The movie could have easily done without Faramir. I don't understand his significance either.

Good, no interest in a PF Faramir so glad he is the next 12" piece.

I hope there is a new PF announcement soon.

It is good to finally have him for those that have wanted him so long.

Definitely a more significant character in the book... but he was still important in the movie. If anything he helped to illustrate how far his father had strayed from being a just leader. But, nonetheless not someone I need in my collection.

come on...not even a 12" ????

All Right!!! :rock :clap

In regards to Faramir being insignificant and/or not critical to the "movie" I present the following...

- No Faramir means no one captures Frodo and Sam
- If Frodo and Sam are not captured, Smeagol is not captured.
- If Smeagol is not captured he doesn't revert back to Gollum
- If Smeagol does not revert back to Gollum he doesn't fight Frodo for the ring.
- If he doesn't fight Frodo for the ring he doesn't get it and fall into the lava
- If he doesn't fall into the lava, Frodo is corrupted and keeps the ring and Sauron wins.

In my opinion, Faramir is critical to the war of the Ring and an awesome choice for the next 12" figure. :banana

Smeagol would have reverted back to Gollum the second he realized Frodo was really going to destroy the ring. I can't imagine Smeagol walking up Mount Doom and watching Frodo cast the ring into the fire without reverting into Gollum and trying to save the precious, can you?

For the record I am pro Faramir.

Sorry, but I've already passed on Boromir and Legolas, so you can get the feel I'm not in for the long haul on these. I just plan on picking up a few choice figures here and there :monkey3

I cant wait to get Faramir. He along with Aragorn, Gimli and Sam are my favorite characters. I just hope he is released in his ranger garb with tons of accessories. I want sword, bow, arrows, quiver, cloak, and the cloven horn.

THere was a time when I said I wasn't interested in Boromir. Then I ordered him. I doubt I'll be able to pass on his younger, and stronger, brother either.
