I actually meant in terms of quality that Iron Man and TDK crushed Indy. I should've specified that as I am aware that Indy IV has made more money than Iron Man. I think it was a FUN and entertaining movie, but I was disappointed when I expected something much more like the original trilogy. But I'm not going to get into all of that again... (and I can say the same thing about Spider-man 3).

I know that the lack of product is the responsibility of the manufacturers themselves (Sideshow,etc.)...I'm just stating that I would not be surprised that the lackluster reaction to KotCS may have left a bad taste in some company's mouths and they have noticed the trend that attention on Indy is fading. Now it may have NOTHING to do at all like you say, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does...maybe this is why we haven't seen anything from Takara? But then again...maybe not. If no one is buying, no one is going to make it.

I wouldn't mind one or two fewer Star Wars figures per year if it meant more Indy and LOTR. But I know a better way for Sideshow to get us more 1:6 scale action figures in all of the lines that they do...

They need to stop dedicating resources to the other formats like PFs, LSBs, 1:1 scale bust, and every other format that is not 1:6 scale action figures.

Unfortunately all the statues is Sideshow's bread and butter, the 12'' figures are somewhat secondary to them. I am glad they made a new figure body and stepped up their game but it also appears that with all their new licenses, a lot of stuff is getting pushed back/ignored and some of the licenses are not being utilized to their fullest.

But Sideshow is a BUSINESS first and foremost and if they don't see $$$ in constructing something, they won't pursue it. Perhaps this is why people are nervous around LotR, it is selling and selling out, but perhaps Sideshow isn't getting the numbers they want out of it anymore.

Unlike Hot Toys who is primarily a 12'' figure maker and that's where their eggs lie.

See although my collection is 85% 1:6, I disagree here. They're obviously going to fumble the 12" line, so they need to come on with some polystone at this point.

Why don't we have a convoy truck diorama or "the bridge" environment piece?:monkey4

I was joking. But I do have to wonder about the statues being the "bread and butter" of the company. Although I have done zero research on the issue and I do not pay attention to the statues, dioramas, busts, et al, it really seems strange to me that they would be the primary product for Sideshow. Interesting subject, though.

Nothing wrong with getting new licenses... just the Mummy would not be one I'd have chosen or the Graboid or that Dragon head they released. But, people will most likely buy them so I'm not too worried about it and I doubt it has some major impact on figure releases.

The 1/6 figures always take a long time... I expected it with Indy and like I've said before; I've wanted a decent 1/6 Indy for years so a delay has no impact on my enjoyment.

Does anyone actually know the REAL date that this item will ship? I'm in the UK and no-one I've contacted can tell me. Even Sideshow!!
I hope this means their giving it all the attention it needs, but its more likely, I think, that their just overstretched.

Nah, we never know that... we'll typically get some sort of shipping notice (usually 20-25 days) before it arrives at the wearhouse.

You know, I passed on the Toys Mccoy one when it first came out. To this day, I regret that, so they can take as long as they need. I will not cancel mine.

I just cancelled my exclusive Indy 1/6th. Hopefully, someone that wants the exclusive on these boards gets it instead. I've already got the PF on order that I'm trying really hard not to cancel and the holidays are coming up. I've also got to start saving now for the slow season at work. I get paid based on contracts and they dry up every year from January-March. I could use that extra $100 on heating oil for my house for the winter months ahead. It's tough when you live by yourself and in your own place.

Agreed on the Mummy, but the Graboid maquette was actually pretty darn cool. I'm glad I bought one and fully intend to hang it on the wall like a hunting trophy. :rock

Well, I don't think you have to regret not buying the Toys McCoy version. This should easily be better in most respects, and for way less money.

Absolutley right, the MCCoy looks great, but this one should be just as good if not better....I just had thought that this would be shipping with the release of the new film, being that hasbro and Medicom were able to do so.....no worries though, as long as it's done right!
