12" Indy In Adventure Gear: Raiders Version Discussion Thread

I think that when this is finally released people who cancelled will be kicking themselves, and huge as Indy is, especially as a figure in 1/6 scale, Sideshow will make sure this one is a hit. Pretty obvious from the release date changes

I don't know about that, Faramir dragged on in the LOTR line and that was a disaster. There is pressure for SSC to nail this figure, but there's also legitimacy in concern that the extended wait doesn't mean the best for us.

Too true. There are some phenomenal stuff on the way and I can wait a little longer if it means more money goes towards the purchases (of course I used those magic points on this one )...

HT Bats stuff (Tumbler the big one), ALL the Indy SSC stuff (PF and 1/6), Iron-Man HT bonanza, more great SW PF's and 1/6.... It's going to be a great end to '08 and a wonderful start to '09 for collectors.

Newbie here, and I can tell you that I've been waiting since 1981! So a couple more months is nothing, really.

I still remember when the movie first came out and blew me away! I think it even affected me more than Star Wars did! At the very least they were equals. I still have the original 3.25" Indy, and remember only ever seeing the 12" version of Indy in a small black and white ad in Starlog, maybe, to mail away for it. I don't remember how much it was going for ($20?) but that it was way too expensive for me! The whole 3.25" line back then was pretty disappointing considering we were spoiled by all the great Star Wars stuff out at the time. The new Hasbro stuff is fun and all, but the Sideshow 12" is imo something truly special.

Indy is what has started this new hobby (more like an addiction) of mine. If it wasn't for that banner ad I came across, my desk wouldn't be overrun with four 12" SW figures and counting!

Nah. I really only purchase what I can afford. And here's the thing: I no longer use credit cards. All of my collectibles purchases are cash-only (or check cards) and have been for over 2 years now. I love my hobbies, but I'm not going into debt over them ever again.

I don't know much about the Watchmen, but I think its 50/50 that the film crashes and burns like League of Ex Gent and Hitchhikers Guide.
