I really wanna get this indy figure from sideshow, it would be my first sideshow figure...however seeing that its on waiting list now, and that its been delayed so much I am wondering if it would make it before christmas??
I see some online stores selling this figure as a preorder but say nothing about a waiting list...anyone pre-ordered this figure from any other online stores?

I would guess we'll see him before the end of the year... but with collectibles you never can know for sure.

Because Sideshow's site is their allotment to sell through their own means, the dealers arrange for certain ammounts for themselves, so while SSC may have orders for all their available figures, dealers may still have figures from their allotment not committed to an order.

Ok thanks...so its safe to order from those other online stores then...I just wasn't sure if they were legit since I saw that sideshow was sold out on them...but yes your explanation makes sense....I have that $25 gift card from best buy indy gift set but seems like its use on sideshow merc. is SO limited.....I'd probably just get it from other online stores...I want this for Christmas!!!!
Sideshow gift cards are nice but they're limited to certain items.
As for Indy, you should be fine going through any reputable dealer, and if you're concerned enough as to whether they truly still have it in stock or not, give them a call or send an email before placing your order and just say you're looking to verify that they do indeed still have figures available for preorder.

Yes and they way the waitlist works is that those figures on Sideshow's site are sold out, but since Sideshow has a very liberal cancel policy the figures typically become available again.
And the idea is that if you are on the waitlist; as figures become available they go to people on the waitlist. Usually this is really only important for exclusives, if you just want the regular version of a figure I'd buy it from a retailer where you can get a 10% discount.

Yep, the majority of retailers sell the figures at 10% below retail. If you can't find one with a discount then if you order through Sideshow you get reward points (5%) you can use towards future purchases.

Ugh. At this point, I wish HT had the license. We'd have probably had more than 2 figures by now.

I don't mind the wait so long as it's due to refinement.
Perhaps, but given HT's recent tactics, we'd have a slew of KOTCS figures, which might be ok, but I'd rather Raiders and the other films of the trilogy.

If he looks as nice as Kenobi then I think he'll be worth the extra wait. The cast skin is a really nice addition to Sideshow.

I still have my exclusive pre-ordered. I'm hoping that Trevor Grove's outstanding sculpt shines through. If it doesn't I'll repaint it. But I'd really rather not have to do that. I still have faith in this figure.

I'm really hoping Sideshow shows production pics before they start charging/shipping. Given this long of a wait (and that I'm now out of the US and shipping charges will be disgustingly high), if everything - including the paint job - isn't perfect I'll be canceling this. There's no way I'm going to spend even more money (and wait another year, given what I hear DA's etc schedules are like) paying someone else to do justice to the sculpt.

I'm gonna be awfully ticked off if Indy's joints are loose like Gen Kenobi's.
Kenobi used the armor body not the Prometheus though, right? I hope the new bodies aren't all going to be loose.
Correct, but so far, Sideshow's 0 fo 2 in the body department. As far as anatomy and function, the new bodies are a great leap forward, but as far as construction and execution, they've suffered from looseness issues, armor body and Hobbit body. I fear Prometheus will have it's issues. If they can just get the level of consistency HT gets as far as tightness in the base body, they'll be all set.
