we could use a 1/6 scale Eowyn with a fell beast head exclusive. This line is deader than the fell beast that Eowyn chopped it's head off.

Ouch. Elijah posts here you know.
...who's idea was it to make Faramir, but not Gimli? is the guy who makes those decisions on here?
i can't wrap my head around the thought process that would lead to that kind of decision. wtf happened?
looks like i'm late in the game on this line. which i KINDA want to start collecting.
but, it sure looks like i can't get a complete fellowship OR any of the villains... so, there isn't much point, is there?

I think you've got it exactly right. I remember people saying that Faramir was a good sign in that it meant that Sideshow wasn't just going to be doing the fellowship (everyone assumed that would be done) but would also be branching out into more peripheral characters. But I think Sideshow underestimated the effect that the choice (combined with mounting delays and the disastrous paint) would have on people's enthusiasm. My guess is that at the time Faramir was announced, the line was planned to continue...and eventually we would get a Gimli. Since his body is 'unique' (not as short as a hobbit, not as tall as a man, rounder than both), it would require a whole new, 'exclusive-to-him' sculpt. Not to mention the R&D to go into making his costume. Would mean he wasn't as easy to pull off then as say, Faramir.
Here's hoping we'll at least get a PF of Gimli! I'd get him to go with Aragorn.
It would be criminal not to get a Gimli PF. CRIMINAL! They wouldn't be facing any of the challenges that they had with the 1/6 scale figures, like getting a properly scaled articulated body, or how to do his armor, etc. They've already done similar things on the other PFs. They just have to do it for Gimli. I'd buy it in a second. The likeness probably wouldn't even be that big of an issue, given that most of his face is covered by his beard.
About as criminal as say, producing a 1:6 line and only completing 2/3 of the Fellowship before bailing?
