99.9% of people in this world are good people. I truely believe this. Trouble is, as the population grows, so does that .1% that isn't good.

I'm not going to start a gun control debate here but simple statistics show that the more guns there are and the easier they are to get the more incidents you will have. If you go swimming in the ocean and there's only one shark, your odds of being eaten are slim. But if you swim in the same ocean with a millions sharks your chances go up.

I am not going to argue against harder gun laws becasue I have no problem making an idividual have to jump through some hoops to get a gun permit.

However look at a place like Chicago which has some of the hardest gun laws in the US and the gun shooting crimes there are through the roof.

Bad guys will always find a way to get he guns.

I don't know what the answer is. But one should not be able to walk into a gun store and then 20 min later walk out with a full arsenal.

They said the weapons and ammo were all bought legally, but I have no idea what the laws are in Colorado. I don't think it would matter because even if there is a waiting list or something, he didn't have a record so he would check out. He planned this out so waiting 5 days or whatever wouldn't have made a difference.

Here in VA it's different..gun shows don't require background checks and can sell as many guns to one person as they want. Some sellers don't require an ID, just cash or credit card.

If the government wanted to get rid of all guns tomorrow they could. But they never ever will because of all the money the gun lobby throws at them. Tweezers on an airplane are bad, but not doing background checks for a rifle is ok. That makes no sense.

Like I said there's no point debating it. This is the system we have and we all have to pay the price for our liberty. If the government announced tomorrow that you can drive drunk legally, would we be surprised when there are more deaths/accidents due to drunk driving? Why should we be surprised when there's another shooting in our gun loving country.

Haven't you made some money from people for custom Jason figures?

Wow... really? :gah:

I like horror movies, yeah. I made horror figures, yeah. But it's not like I have ever advocated violence or glorified it. Entertainment is escape. Anyone who knows me, knows that I was a fearful child and have a nervous personality. Horror movies ironically have made me LESS afraid. It's through the use of a psychological method called "exposure". You expose yourself to your fear (in my case, death) and it loses it's power over you.

Entertainment is therapy.

What he posted about was that people applaud crashes in races (REAL not fake), Super gory films (which I don't really like...Jason and others are usually more over the top and silly), violence in sports, and more.

There's no need to defend what you do. This is all of us. We are all going to see this movie. Most of us play cod or halo. Most of us like jarring hits in football. It's our society. We love violence..bigger explosions better..graphic rape scene better...more gore and guts better. How many people on here bashes the nfl when they try and make the game safer? We want to see people get hurt. Other countries aren't like this...it's been proven. People shooting other people is the norm now..not the exception.

Im going to have to side with the 2nd Ammendment on this one.

The problem is that anyone who intends to use a gun to murder someone obviously doesn't give a crap about the law in the first place.

Im all for having weapons registered and background checks on those that intend to buy them, but banning weapons only keeps them out of the hands of those that intend to use them legally.

I agree with you... we live in a violent society. No doubt.

You need to do some traveling. Maybe watch some Hockey or Soccer, yeah only the US likes violence, ooOOo that makes sense. Theres also alot less censoring of rape sceenes in many countries. get off your soapbox.

Re: 14 shot dead at movie theater

Love the sarcasm, and it's quite the truth. Criminals will find ways to circumvent applicable gun laws and obtain firearms illegally, even through the black market.

Criminals could always buy them from the United States Government.

This is the bad thing in us, the gun shot is everywhere, people are not save in school an now can't even warch movie...

Graphic rape scenes better? Um, no that isn't better but disturbing. Personally I don't know of anybody who likes graphic rape scenes.

This exposure for the better, in your case, theory isn't a far leap from the same thinking that exposure can also work in reverse and be a numbing agent for extreme acts such as this, IMO.

Personally, I don't find being "less afraid" of things like mass murder or decapitation or whatever is necessarily a good thing. They're atrocities, not clowns or elevators.
