I haven't been able to stop watching the news. It's like an eye sore, you can't stop looking. I also haven't really stopped sobbing. I feel so awful for everyone involve and I am looking forward to finding out what could have caused such a tragedy to unfold.

I can't express in words how disgusted I am right now. Utterly sickening. Hearing about children experiencing such (or any) violence bleeds my heart. Damn this effn world.

It's tough, you risk socially handicapping them just to give yourself piece of mind... I'm sure we all wish we could wrap our children in some protective bubble where no one could ever hurt them though. I know I do.

Totally agree. Being able to interact socially with people who are different from you and to appreciate those differences is key in making someone a well-adjusted individual.

Then you hear crap like this and you just want to keep your kid safe.

Yup. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. :(

 I'm gonna chalk that up to poor choice of words....

Its tough. I know some kids who were home school and their lives are worse for it. Probably because their mother and father were self absorbed loonies who believed the public school system was for fools yet they didn't have the personal intelligence, care, or ability to bring their children up to be successful themselves. I think they hid them away.

I know others who have were home schooled because their parents WERE actually better teachers and people than the teachers at the public schools. They and their kids are like the awesomest people I know. These kids are highly functioning and get involved in church groups, baseball, etc so they get plenty of proper social interraction.

I was just in Newtown yesterday for work. If you told me yesterday that something like this would ever happen in this community, I would've never believed it. I'm absolutely shocked and devastated that this senseless horror occurred. I have a heavy heart for those I know within the town and prayers go out to families affected by the mindless tragedy.

I hear ya, but to me, that just doesn't compensate for the daily social interaction they get from being in school and having friends they see and play/socialize with on the daily basis.

Its just so sad, hard to explain with words this mixed feelings, my prayers are with everyone that was affected by that a....hole.

It makes me sick, that imbecils think and go to do this things, when they have things that they dont value, like life, family, job, friends, I mean they´re not even sick or physically disabled.

Its just so frustrating, wish that nobody would be affected by this incidents.

Picking up my 6 year old from her school in 10 minutes, going to give her an extra big hug. Sick to my stomach over this tragedy.

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a part of the human race. This utterly disgusting and tragic. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

A quote from the movie Aliens:

My mommy always said there were no monsters - no real ones - but there are.

A monster reared it's ugly head in CT today.God bless the victims of this awful crime.May the tiny victims know love and joy in the kingdom of heaven.

I'm avoiding the TV news. But I suppose I'll see nothing else in the papers in work tomorrow.

Yep. Woke up to it on the radio this morning, and saw the pres giving his press conference on the telly. That's all I need to hear, see or know about this for a while :(
