No airbrushing likely bro. Trust me. Let me get 'em sculpted first! LOL! Then we'll talk all that...cart before the horse. Chances are, I wouldn't want to airbrush them anyway. I can work faster and more controlled without.

Trevor!

:D

So...anyway....

Cool news! My buddy, the one that is writing the book about the JAWS Bruce development story, did a cool thing for a certain Mr. Roy Arbogast recently, he being the man that worked on certain aspects of the mechanical shark, namely the molds etc...and...the sad part...remember when all the fires hit the L.A. area recently? Well, they hit Mr. Arbogast's place, and destroyed all the old molds for the Bruces. Yep, that part of cinematic history is now, History. All burned up.

And Roy didn't have any pictures for his insurance needs, so to help Arbogast out, my buddy came up with some photos he had taken on a trip out to his ranch, and that helped Arbogast with the insurance claims, so...
Roy Arbogast sent my buddy some teeth...three backups and ONE SCREEN USED TOOTH FROM THE EATING OF QUINT SCENE!!!!

The one with the tube was actually in the shark's mouth, and the tube squirted blood out to look like Quint blood! Can you believe this!?!?! How lucky is my buddy! Those others are all period cast backups, made for the movie, but not used.
My buddy says he may loan it all to a new movie museum out in L.A. that is opening soon, if it hasn't already, so that is something cool.

Just a neato thing to show you guys, and some killer refs for Bruce teeth too!

Thanks for sharing that Les, I never realized they worked on serrations for the teeth other than the one pulled out of Ben Gardner's boat. I'd love to have the big one.

That IS very cool. I never realized they had blood-squirting teeth in that sequence. I just though they used squibs on Quint...but this is much cooler and techy. :)

My bud also sent me scanned pics of the teeth in scale! So I am gonna print them out, and finally, after all these years, have an exact size for the teeth from Bruce the frikkin' shark!!! I have always wanted to know that.

More fun in Bust-Land to come! :chew

Holy heck!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the same idea we got going here. Head breaching the water...he even has the dorsal on his. That's pretty cool, though Les' will be worlds apart I'm sure. Still fun to see. It's small at 7" high too.

Bet that lights a fire under your cushion, Les.

EDIT: OK, to really light a fire, I did a quick little mock up to give us all an idea what ours will look like...

Come on, how wicked is that! With the three guys...

That does look badass!

To light a fire eh? :lol
Try lighting a fire under a man's ass that is trying to lift a two ton truck up and off of himself first....:rotfl
THEN he gets to sculpt Shark busts! :D

It will happen though. Hey, IT'S ME! You know I want one! :naughty

But thanks for the image. Now I have to sculpt something worthy to live up to it! :banana
(And I promise I will get the eyes balanced too!)

Wow, that is awesome although the eyes seem a bit small in scale...

But this guy did a trulyGREAT Sculpt!

Not as great as ours of course, right Les? Once all our guys are done this will be a great finale to our display!

Patience Boys. :D

And Greg, Very nice PS, gonna look great.

And PC, that gif is to die for!

Best thing about this surprise ebay auction is that it gives us an idea of what our sculpt/bust will look like to some degree. It's like having a temp mock-up without Les having to actually do the dirty work right now. It also will help scale Bruce properly -- you can actually use the provided pics to size the bust in PS against our figures to settle on the perfect size and angle of the head breaching. It's a useful tool.

The PS mock-up I did is a bit large in scale against Brody -- but you get to see Bruce with Brody which looks awesome I think. It's definitely the final piece to complete this amazing little project we got going here.

In any event, this bust is very similar to the vision I had in my head.

We all know Les' will be dead-on accurate and a much more stylish piece. Now I'm really excited.
