I thought Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin did a good job tonight. At least some of their stuff was funny. Though I didn't get to see all of this, I was pretty satisfied with who won. Jeff Bridges is still a cool dude. Clooney looked good, but seemed to be in a mood. Sandra, my female crush, looked like crap with the red lipstick. Ahhhhhh......Jesse got choked up! Colin Farrell took a bath!!!! :lol

Not too bad of a show this time around.

Oh......and don't be so hard on Bam. I've heard some of you all say some pretty harsh things too at times. ;)

ignore Bam!

Hurt Locker is awesome! Glad it won!!! I still Love Avatar & D9!!!! all badass movies!!! :rock

That movie was a revolution in cinematography.....The Hurt Locker was a low budget giant sand box.

Bam Seriously grow up. A movie isn't ranked on what they can show you. It's ranked on emotion and what they bring to the plate. Sure Avatar looked good, it looked great to be honest. However, story wise it was nothing. Just another movie. I have high hopes for the sequel.

dear jesus i was wondering when the hell you would say "dear jesus i was wondering when the hell you would show up buddy" buddy. :banghead

If this were last year and there were only 5 nominees. Avatar would have not even been nominated. The real question should be how many bjs did Cameron give to get his Globe.

So Best Picture should be awarded to the top grossing film? Boy if that's the case - a lot of great movies (Schindler's List, No Country For Old Men, The English Patient, etc...) would never have stood a chance.

If the Hurt Locker is overrated, the Avatar must be the holy gods of Overratedism.

Hurt locker is a war movie whats so new about it, omg do you people hate avatar so much that you think that hurt locker is so perfect, come on man. Avatar was cliche but atleast it was awesome cliche lol. I like conflicts like that tho.

Twilight would've won..:(

It would have been pretty awesome if D9 would have won.

The first 10 minutes of Up had more humanity than most of the Best Picture nominations combined.

Agree, that first segment was touching, too bad the rest of the movie wasn't.

I wonder how many blow jobs Kathrine Bigelow had to give to get best picture!

AVATAR FTW!!!!!!!

Prolly as many as Cameron gave the Devil when he sold his soul.

Look, I loved Avatar, I thought it was very cool and enjoyed myself thoroughly when I saw it. But when weighing all of the factors that go into making a film, Avatar falls short and Hurt Locker excels. The reason Avatar fans feel it was better and more deserving is that it was a more accessible/mainstream movie.

If the Hurt Locker is overrated, the Avatar must be the holy gods of Overratedism.
I agree.

Again I agree with brother Ill. Take your damn glasses off people! Avatar was good but damn it was just OK IMO.
Seriously.

If she were winning for Strange Days or Near Dark, I'd agree, but Hurt Locker is over rated and Avatar is the most successful film in history, so you do the math.

Someone shouldn't be a winner based on gender or race. They should only be recognized for absolutely excelling in the art of motion pictures, and in this case I don't think Kathryn Bigelow was the one who truly earned the honour this year.

Movies that make the kind of money Avatar is usually don't win acadamy awards. That's just the way it is.

Gone with the Wind is still #1 though. What they mean by successful is by today's money totals. It still hasn't sold as the most tickets.

Avatar was nothing more then a "Dance with the Natives" movie...whats so different about it?

C'mon....the reason why The Hurt Locker worked, was because it was a CHARACTER study. It went into one of these guys' mind, which turned some crazy badass, into something more. That is why it deserved the win. The characters/writing.

I'm happy that Christoph Waltz got best supporting actor, and The Hurt Locker got best picture. I wanted Quentin Tarantino to win best director, but Katheryn Bigelow deserves it as much. I'm disappointed that Hans Zimmer didn't win for best score for Sherlock Holmes, and I'm still bummed that Moon didn't get any recognition whatsoever.
