Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I stopped watching a few weeks ago, but tuned in tonight for the "big" Coulson revelation, and it was as underwhelming as the rest of this show has been. The only bright spot was Shepherd Book's scene at the end. He showed more real emotion in those couple of minutes than everyone else on this show combined. It's a pity the other players aren't as skilled.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I stopped watching SHIELD about 3 - 4 episodes ago, I wasn't feeling it.
Me too. I just lost interest..

I had missed the last couple of episodes so I didn't watch tonight. One of these days I might get caught up. Though I like the show, I don't care so much if I miss it.
I might go back & check it out later too, but right now.. colour me meh.

The writing's on the wall.. but they've green lighted a second season? :lol

I was so enthusiastic about this show going in, but with each episode that I watched (till tuning out about a month ago) it just became a chore to sit through for me.

For those that are still digging it - power to yas. :duff

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I thought the production value of this past week's episode was awesome. From the bus changing course in the air, to the sequence where the machine was working on Clouston (very freaky!). and finally, the end where J. August Richards sees himself... I am liking where this show is going.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I've grown to like the characters, but the stories are so dull.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I am still watching but just going through the motions; don't truly look forward to an episode.

Feels just amateurish - they need some much more interesting characters

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I took this off DVR rotation, someone wanna spoiler tag "the reveal" cause I probably won't catch this episode. On another note, if anyones seen the tomorrow people, its a generic superhero drama, but the generic government super agency (which mixes powered heros in with groups of agents) seems to work ven better than what AoS is presenting.

I still find it weird that a show with Disney/Marvel/ Whedon attachment can't get traction.

Hope Richards becomes a permanent part of the team, some killing off of the current team would add some needed tension plus start weeding out the joke of a team they assembled. win- win :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

The Tomorrow People is hands down more entertaining that AoS. I am also up for someone spoiler tagging the reveal. My guess all along was he was a robot or synthetic in some way.

RE Coulson "reveal"

Here is a poor recap by me. With the help of a machine, Coulson saw through the Tahiti memory implant that he was on an operating table with a machine probing his exposed brain, asking the doctors over and over to please let him die. Later at the end of the episode, he tracked down the doctor played by Ron Glass. He revealed that Coulson was dead but for several days not minutes and Fury wanted him revived. Fury had teams of scientists trying procedures that no good doctor would ever allow. His doctor was brought into the seventh surgery which was when the robot was probing Coulson's brain and implanting memories to cover the pain and give him the will to live.

So they still need to cover the whys and hows of how he was brought back.

Thank you, sir! :bow

I'm getting a 'six million dollar man' vibe. Try out that new stuff on Coulson idea. This episode was pretty good, amusing in some parts but the characters definitely need more depth.
I like Arrow a lot but its a bit soap opera-ish.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

You guys all seem to forget marvel has ALWAYS made lame movies and tv shows until the reboot with ironman. This is just their old style, I especially love how they try to capture that dude at the beginning - surprise the bad guys with a flashbang then all just run in empty handed for a fist fight - the most advanced and well trained military org in the world assault tactic is bumrush the room empty handed like morons....the only thing missing are the popup POW BAM text bubbles.....black widow probably committed suicide after watching that.

Bill Paxton is joining the cast in a semi-regular role as John Garrett!
https://www.aintitcool.com/node/65729
Paxton will join AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. for at least four episodes as Agent John Garrett, who, in the comics, eventually becomes a cyborg with cybernetic implants in his brain and a mechanical hand. No word on how far they're going to be adapting his character for the show, but the idea of Paxton playing a semi-regular role as a grizzled, cigar-chomping cyborg badass instantly makes the show a little bit cooler. Hell, maybe they'll throw Paxton in one of the actual movies. Couldn't hurt.
Love Paxton, this definitely makes AOS more interesting!:banana

Damn, first I'd heard of that Screaming.

I'm guessing they have realized its time to up their game. Definitely gotta add this back into recording rotation.

The following episodes won't improve by much.

Yeah it's only four episodes though. I wish they'd add him as the "Nick Fury" of the team as part of the regular cast. They also desperately need a good villain on the show, Centipede is nice but needs a strong villain or two to represent it on screen. The off screen Clairvoyant isn't helping it much.

Did anyone else think we were seeing the Proto Ultron working on Coulson in "the Magical Place"? I'd like to think it was. Scene was creepy as hell but didn't answer much of anything. He still could be an artificial person.

Proto Ultron is an interesting theory for sure. I was kind of thinking something along the lines of MODOK or something Arnim Zola would create (he's back in The Winter Soldier fyi). What I find interesting is that last night's episode mentioned Bucky Barnes (Sky saw his name on the SHIELD memorial) and that Bucky and Coulson have one very interesting thing in common--both died and both were brought back. I wonder if this will be connected down the road in the series and then again in The Winter Soldier.
