I think you're OK if you have a confirmation number, pending charge and e-mail. Congrats!

Well, my order for Hellboy II is showing in my account and I got an email. So it might not get the axe but the way these guys run things is just annoying.

I'll be curious to see how these guys and Sideshow team up. This method they use won't fly when done with Sideshow.

So I tried that copy/paste trick with my card number. Really sped up the process.

I still do this, but I do so many online purchases, I practically have my 16 digit number memorized. I definitely have the security code and expiration date committed memory.:lol:lol:lol

Stop it, you're scaring me. For what reason would these orders be canceled? I can't see that Star Wars oversell happening twice, and not with a smaller property like Hellboy.

If you saw this place in person, you would probably laugh that they sell as many posters as they do. It is literally a corner of the lobby in a movie theatre. That is it. For what they are, I think they do extremely well.

Thats why I'm calling it a second rate operation as far as the posters go. If you're gonna start selling stuff that has become this popular time to step up and improve your operation.

The posters and work they get from the artists is amazing work. Everyone of mine look great in person but its time for them to figure ____ out and make it easier to get things ordered.

Just not much faith in these guys to be honest when it comes to tight sales like this especially when it feels like my order was right against the buzzer.

Cause thats what makes up most of the buyers. :lol
I won't be surprised if some of those auctions barely sell over cost, once you factor in fees and everything. This is why I don't freak out if I miss a poster like Hellboy. I got one, but had I missed out, I would just watch ebay and would most likely end up paying about $20.00 more than I did today.

Oversells happen when posters sell out in mere seconds and Paypal is in the midst of processing transactions. With 20-30 second sellouts, you get that sometimes when the inventory is depleting faster than the speed of light. Today's five minute sale was drawn out enough that there should be no oversells at all.

Personally, I use gift cards and have no problems because there is no offsite processing happening--it's two or three clicks and you're done without being redirected.

If Mondo were a major company like Amazon or Ticketmaster, they could spend limitless dollars on perfecting a checkout system. For a very small operation, they are doing the best they can. If they start charging $150 per poster, they will start pulling in enough money to pay for massive hardware and software upgrades--while pricing out the customers and reducing the demand that led to the upgrades in the first place. They are smart in teaming up with Sideshow to start releasing the variants through the SS site while they sell the less limited regular versions, and I can't wait to hear more about their partnership.

Mondo's site is working MUCH better than it did at this time last year, because they have been making as many improvements as they can with the available resources. I am surprised that such a small scale boutique operation has a site that works as well as it does, all things considered. They are practically operating out of a closet, yet they still strive to keep editions and prices low instead of selling out in order to make more money. They could go the Gentle Giant route and print 10,000 copies of everything and flood the market, but then the whole concept of limited collectible art would go right out the window.

It's unfortunate that you have to pretty much be a die hard glued to the computer screen to get an order in with Mondo, but there were days when it was like that with Sideshow at times. We melted a few servers back in the day! And people missed out, and people were frustrated, etc. That's how this hobby works when things are at their peak.

Well spoken. :clap

THats true and when I do make an effort to get Hellboy I will hopefully be able to get it fairly close to retail.

We did and they learned and grew. Something Mondo is going to have to do.

Part of the fun is the hunt. The fact you have something that someone else may not have. I left my computer on all night for the star wars stout drop .. with tweetdeck dedicated to mondo.. with speakers connected just incase there was a mondo tweet at 3am. I put in the effort and reap the rewards.
